What is funny ia thinking that coach Hicks even has a Twitter account. He has no clue about Twitter and he can laugh about it cause he doesn't get caught up in the social media craze our country is obesed with. And I think if I have thw ability to move my child somewhere that he can be successful then I could care less what Jon Hood or anyone else thinks. I can tell you that at UK he ran a 4.45 40 on the laser. He is fast. He also had a 39 inch vertical. This kid can play. WKU offered him on the spot 2 weeks ago. He is a legit D1kid

Well this is interesting, Don't know the guy and wish him the best of luck by why is this a great hire. Never been a head coach or a coordinator. I was told he has not coached anywhere the past two seasons. Also is he a teacher? I heard he is a para- professional, I believe this will be difficult to gather the troops with him not being in the building, JMO. I see with there schedule and such a late hire another dismal season for the Cards. Anybody know what scheme he will run, spread, I, etc. ? What kind of defense? Who will be his assistants ? Going to be an interesting summer to see how they develop.

I have heard the AD took some heat over his comments about the football program that was put in the paper in Fort Thomas, so maybe they have decided to stay and play with the big boys.

Why are you shocked and the analogy to Brossart is goofy. I was told they are playing Highlands as well that year. Also was told that no one else in NKY will schedule them, why not call them out as well.

I heard no one on the I-75 corridor would play them so they went a little further north I guess. I am hearing that they are playing Highlands as well. good for Coach McKee for picking up two great opponents. I do hear that they are having trouble finding games outside of the Lexington schools. I think there are several schools that would match up well in the state but I guess winning a state title changes peoples thoughts about putting you on the schedule

I don't see how it almost killed their program. They moved districts after a realignment and as far back as the KHSAA website lets you go they appear to have won, during that time period is their only recorded winning seasons . They also are just leaving a district without Highlands, Cov. Cath. etc where they gave up just as many points to Conner, Cooper and Scott as they did with playing in the Highland district. Play where you are supposed to play. I would think an extra week every year to practice for the playoffs would help them build their program. Has it or did it really benefit Pendleton Co.? They started their program in non-district, went to district, then back to non-district, not sure if that is beneficial. JMO

Are you kidding me DD, they would just drop out of district play to not have to play Highlands. They were in that district before, no they did not win but they at least played, don't like the message this is sending. They could always ask to move toward Louisville since they were playing there before.

I can tell you that I had a kid who's father coached and they were told that a change of address would have to be made. Now it was no problem because the coach was coming 3 hours away, but that was what was told to me by the KHSAA.

I agree with you on this point and fully understand the cost analysis by playing comparable teams in your own back door. But some do travel to Lexington to Shelbyville, etc. I hope some of the NKY will continue to do so. I was surprised to hear Ryle was not going to re up the deal since they have a new HC and with such a great Freshman class last year it would have been fun to watch that series I believe that Scott Co. freshmen were undefeated as well last year, Ryle also gave Scott Co their only loss as a program beating them in a JV game.

I see your point but they are a county school and we see too many big schools in NKY play 2A and 3A teams in the regular season. You don't have to go out and schedule all the big dogs but come on, for years people have avoided the cream of the crop in NKY (Highlands to play some other team that is not very good.) I will give Campbell Co credit for putting them on the schedule last year and Ryle credit for playing them all those years before last year. I am just saying that it would be a good measuring stick and in a non-district game it couldn't hurt. Plus with all the rambling that UKfan does about how great SK is why don't they step up and play a Scott Co or Highlands? Also Cooper is 1 year removed from the state title game in which they played about as close to BG as anyone has. I don't think 1 game is going to hurt and I agree according to the schedule Scott Co played some weak teams but all were either 5A or 6A. All I am saying is that it would not hurt any of these programs to play some Lexington area schools

I heard that with the new scheduling that is going on that no NKY school except Highlands is willing to play Scott Co. SO I guess SK is not willing to go outside to schedule either. Also if I was making the jump to 6A like a Cooper or Conner I would try and play Scott Co. and as many other schools as I could to prepare for the playoffs and playing other teams outside of the NKY 6A that has been down the past couple of years.

Hey let's not forget that it is a top notch education as well. It is like 48,000 a year to go there and they only have like 4500 students and a beautiful campus. Good luck to Jackson, he was the best player in KY this year in my opinion.

This to me is part of the coaches job and if he is not dong this then the school should look into why he is not and reprimand them. The kids deserve it and if you are too lazy or too good to take the time then maybe you should find another profession.

So you are saying a kid should be punish, lets say mom or dad get a job in another state and have to move. Now as in our state here I am sure they have rules on transfers, IDK. But too many variables can come into play. I for one think this is basketball motivated and that is not right in my opinion but it is what it is. I am not sure Rae and Billy got along or maybe Rae just didn't like listening to Billy. Maybe he thought he should have been the star. The one thing that irked me was when Rae would foul or an official would call anything it always seemed like Rae acted a fool and didn't like the call. Which I think a lot of kids do that today and I wish that refs would T their butts up right then. I know it is tough to replace a 7 footer but the team he has coming is small and will need to find some size or play fast. Wish the kid best of luck but move on without him.

Like I said before you have to beat the best to win the Ring so when you play makes no difference to me.

Not blaming the players but just another story about someone not getting their way. Sounds like maybe they did not like the fact that old coach is gone and hey if we walk out they have to notice. Just like the people who want to get a petition to have this or that done because they don't like the outcome. Someone makes a decision, live with it or go somewhere else. We have become such a self-gratifying nation that the words loyalty and hard work are lost for fairness and being equal. How many people thought they were better than LeBron in high school, well if they did then they were wrong and should be glad he was with them. I am not saying who is to blame in this situation and I hate it for the school and the kids involved but they and the coaches made a choice now they have to live with it. I agree if the game is not fun then don't play but I will never agree with it is okay to quit anything. That wasn't how I was raised, you start it you finish it.

Yes that is a loaded district but what argument could they make Boone is closer than Campbell so I want to play up. Or hey Harrison is close and won't kill us so let me play down. I am still in favor of play where you are supposed to play and be done with it. No playing up or down. We have 6 classes for a reason.

This is how I read it, in the state semis they could potentially in 16 and 17 face trinity and St. X based on their district being paired with D6 which would face the region winner of Region 4 or D7 & D8. That being said why is there any rotation at all now that St. X and Trinity are not in the same district. No one else in the state rotates. I will say that Scott Co and Jim McKee are getting too much credit for your assumptions and after taking Trinity and Quick and company to the wire and in '12 and winning it in '13 I don't think it matters who they play, you have to beat one of them to win the ring. I will predict that Male will and should be pre-season #1 in 6A

Our society is raising a generation that knows nothing but blame other and if I am not successful it is someone else's fault. It is sad to see but I am glad I taught mine to go hard and to deal with it when coaches were hard on them. Fighters win in the end, you have to go after what you want, there comes a time when rec ball is done and real competition begins.
