The Cards win their first state title since the 1975 2A crown while Meade County falls short. Tremendous game, more competitive than some thought going in.

Tough game to watch, If I am a Male fan....ugh.

Congrats to the Cardinals on their State Championship.

Congrats to both teams. Good game.

My how Gtown has grown.

Congratulations to Scott County.

How long has it been since a NKY or Louisville team didn't win a state title?

Ummmm ... isn't DeSales in Louisville?

DeSales is a Louisville team, so not this year

To answer your question - never. It wasn't possible prior to 1975 because Class 3A was all Louisville before then, and hasn't happened since.

True. I forgot.

The last time nky haven't won is 2003

Congratulations to the Cards and Coach McKee. Cards were able to grind it out and get the win with a Scott Daniels touchdown as the game was in the final few minutes.

Meade Co was tough. I thought they were going to win when the fumble was returned for a TD but then they ruled that the SC runner was down.

Wasn't pretty but the pep rally is apscheduled for 1:00am in the Scott Co gym.

I believe that was the year that Danville put it on Beechwood and Boyle put it on Highlands.

I'll eat crow on my predictions for this one. Thought it'd a blowout for Scott County.

FWIW:

@zach_greenwell: Just got a good look in the media room at a photo of that Scott County non-fumble late. Ball was out well before Guy's knee was down.

This was the scoop and score that wasn't on what ultimately became Scott County's game winning drive. It would have put Meade up a TD instead.
