Bluegrasscard Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 An intra-district rematch game. Henry Clay won the regular season game 39 to 23 at Dunbar. Who wins and why?
strongopenyon Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I like Henry Clay at home to win this rematch. Coach Simpson knows if the Blue Devils get out of the gate quickly, the Dunbar team will have a difficult time playing from behind. I see the real keys being Henry Clay having too many offensive weapons, and Dunbar not being able to keep Henry Clay honest with a passing game. The Blue Devils will load the box and shut down the Bulldogs running attack.
Carlosknows1 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Dunbar was going in to take the lead the last time they met when they fumbled near the goal line. This game could be closer than people think and if Henry Clay does not get out quickly it could be the shocker of round 2.

If Dunbar gets out of the gate and in the lead, their deliberate offense could play keep away from the Blue Devils. Henry Clay's defense was gashed by Scott County, but that was mostly because the Cardinals mixed in some nice play-action passing with their strong running attack. It kept Henry Clay from loading the box. I am not sure Dunbar can play offensively with good running/passing balance.
