Just a side note. Bowling Green's only loss was a one point thriller to McCallie Tn. Maxpreps has them ranked #18 in the nation. Just saying.

If that's the case, what's going to happen to next weeks game against CAL. Is it OK to forfeit another game? It sounds like they are going to have a problem fielding a team the rest of the season. What are the rules for minimum number of players for a game? Somebody could get hurt playing with 12-15 players. I feel bad for the dozen or so kids that really care about their team, but not for the rest of them. Oh, and it sucks for Desales too!

No sir. I don't think they should have played with 12 players. I think they should shut the program down. The way the Army is cutting back is making it impossible to field a team at Ft. Knox. When a 2A school can only field 12 players, it's time to close the program.

I saw the same game you did. That's about what I think. Who calls the plays for the Dragons?

I'll go out on a limb (because no other Purple fan will) and say Bowling Green is the best team in the state, again. Just because Male was picked by a few "experts" doesn't mean much. They have played an easy schedule so far and I wouldn't even put them in the mix, until they beat somebody. Bowling Green lost by 1 point to the #46 team in the country. Right now, it's no contest. Just saying.

They take it as they are better than both teams right now.

This doesn't surprise me. The way they played at Bowling Green told me all I need to know. They are a very good football team.

This is ridiculous. If you don't have enough to play your scheduled game, dismantle your football program. Fall Break???? Really???? That is so lame it doesn't even rate a response. Like someone already said, "couldn't they go tomorrow"? I'm sorry that little Johnny's parents are making Johnny look weak, but parents ruin a lot of things for kids. I can't believe anyone is OK with this. What's next? Canceling games because of rain. It's as good of an excuse as cancelling for Fall Break. Get out of here with that garbage!

Everybody jumped on the South Warren train last year and got derailed. They were much better last year. It's a shame that they play a bad 1A schedule and have 5A numbers. Nobody knows how good they are until the playoffs. I wouldn't reward them anything until they prove they deserve it.

Is McCallie from Tennessee? Wow! They were great. They made us feel right at home last year. You sure they are in the same state as Blackman? I didn't have to send my wife and kids home at halftime of the McCallie game. I did when we played Blackman. I really like that bunch at McCallie. I noticed they aren't on Blackman's schedule this year, either. Hmmm...

Blame? I thought you were a Purple Fan. Plus, it's not an influx, if they have been here forever.

Blackman got what they deserved when they played Bowling Green. They got beat by a better team. Maybe this year they can come together and be great, but last year they were very overrated. I never figured out what all the fuss was about. They lost to probably Kentucky's best team last year and didn't like it. Imagine that! To me it was like a little kid on the losing team of a pee-wee football game. He cried all the way home. In this case, the adults are still crying. Music to my ears!

Trinity, all the way. They have always been respectful to me and the Purples. Plus, it's an out of state team. May as well be an out of the country team. Go Rocks!

5A in Kentucky is the weakest it has been since they went to the 6 class system.

I don't believe any public school in Kentucky will ever be the "best" team in Kentucky. I do believe a public school can be the best team in Kentucky for a particular year. That's the best we (public schools) can hope for.

If this is what it is like to be #1, I'd rather be #2. Wow!

The atmosphere alone will be worth all the hype.

Senior Tyler Jopes returns at SS this year. He was defensive player of the game in the Rafferty's bowl against Lexington Catholic. The Purples returned their entire defensive backfield this year and Senior WR Nacarius Fant will probably play some on defense in the St. X. game. The defensive line replaced a few starters, but had experienced players to step in. My only worry would be in the kicking game.

Thanks MHSCardinal. Everyone talked so much about our weak schedule. These two teams don't look like pushovers, by any means. I thought St. X would be our toughest game this year, but I'm not so sure now. Looks like this Purple team will be tested several times this year.

I think Bowling Green was just better in 2011. The 2012 Purples were made up of 90% Juniors. That was your best chance to beat this team. This years team is a senior laden team with the best offense in school history and a veteran defense. Good luck and I hope I can get a seat for this game.
