With Belfry losing to Pikeville, a 1A team, does South Warren now stand alone at the #1 spot in 3A? IMO they do.... Thoughts?

Dude...you are making the argument that south is best in 3a after beating Hart County....come on!

I think Central, Bell County, Belfry will have something to say to that.

I look for Central to take the #1 spot, with South Warren #2. But Belfy is still likely to make a lot of noise.

No I am saying they are #1 after Belfry lost to the number 2 or 3 1A team.... Should be no discussion after that. Nothing you can say will convince me otherwise... South is hands down #1.

There was nothing to say to convince you otherwise 3 weeks ago. You just finally had a higher ranked team lose and in your mind that adds some validity to your argument. I'm with you though. South Warren is the best team in 3A. They should be ranked #1 for sure. :thumb:

I've seen film on both SW & Central. No comparison. South is cleary a better team & deserves the #1 spot IMO. As they should considering their 5A enrollement numbers. We'll see if they have the same success once the realignment kicks in. Regardless, they have an outstanding team especially up front.

Of course you would think that because SW has played Hart, Logan, Greenwood, etc. Not even close to comparable to WC's schedule.

 

One of SW's best wins comes against Warren East, 34-14. East just got throttled by Hoptown 61-21, a Hoptown team WC beat 54-16.

I don't base my opinion solely on margin of victory or the opponent. Sure, SW has a cupcake schedule... But they're more technically sound than central. Central may have a couple more athletes at certain positions, but overall SW has a better team on the field. Central has never been known for discipline or execution

Here is the very valid critique of South Warren.

 

Of the 5 teams they have defeated...this is the list of the best quality wins those teams have combined for:

Warren East

3-2 Barren County.. quality win

1-4 Monroe County Quality win in name only as Monroe has been bitterly underwhelming.

 

 

Logan County- WInless

 

Greenwood- No Quality Wins

 

Etown- No Quality Wins

 

Hart County- Winless

 

Does South Warren deserve to go ahead of a Belfry team that just lost to a 1A team? You can certainly argue that.

 

The reality though is South Warren has feasted on probably the weakest schedule of any team in 3A's Top 10 and right now all we know about them is they have proven they can dominate mediocre and bad teams.

No One and by No One I mean NO ONE on this Forum thought Etown was mediocre or BAD team before SW played them... As a matter of fact, everyone was saying that if South beats them, they are as good as I say. Why now the change in tone? Is Etown no longer a good team because they got blown out by South Warren, or is South Warren just THAT GOOD?!

No one has said anything about Warren Central in this post..... But since you bring it up, I believe it would be a great game. WC has the Jim's and Joes while SW has the X's and O's.... (With a few Jim's and Joes of their own) I think if the teams played sometime in weeks 1-4, SW wins, but in weeks 6-end of season, WC wins...
