You missed Thomas Jefferson. In 1971, when most the schools in Jefferson County were separated from the rest of the state and placed in class AAA, Thomas Jefferson and Flaget tied 7-7 in the AAA championship game and were declared Co-Champions. The list shows Flaget in the Champions list because they are listed as co-champions but in alphabetical order.

Cincinnati St. Xavier gets a rematch with Colerain next week on a neutral site to be named on Sunday. Colerain lost its first 3 games to Cincinnati LaSalle, Cincinnati St. Xavier and Louisville Trinity. All three of those teams won their first round playoff games. Colerain is on an 8 game win streak including tonight's 28-7 win @ Hilliard Darby (northwest of Columbus)

In Ohio, the running clock starts when on team is ahead by more than 30 and reverts to a regular clock when the difference goes below 30. Under that rule, the running clock at Highlands vs Boyd County game last night would have stopped running when Boyd County scored to make it 36-7 and restarted running when Highlands made it 44-7. I think that that is weird, I like the way it works in KY better.

We know that team can be given a first round bye, LCA had one last night. So, why not make the teams earn a playoff berth by at least winning a game. If there is a team that is winless, then their opponent (a district #1) would be given a bye. So last night's game of Bracken County vs Beechwood would not have been played. IMHO, team do not gained anything from the game. Both team members ran the risk of injury in a totally meaningless game. This would have only affected 5 games last night. There were 11 winless teams this year and 6 did not make the playoffs. The games that would have been affected were Phelps' 69-0 loss at Raceland, Bracken County's 62-0 loss at Beechwood, Somerset's 30-20 loss at Shelby Valley, Hopkins County Central's 62-6 loss at Franklin-Simpson and Harrison County's 67-14 loss at Johnson Central. Four of those games were running clocks with only one of the 5 that has a competitive score.

The "Super District" is apparently the only one that won all 4 of their games. So what? Leave it alone, most people are not interested in an all Louisville final. IMHO, an all Louisville final is not good for the KY high school football. BTW, only 14 of the 95 games, 14.583....%, tonight were won by the visiting team.

We hear a lot of talk about the first round mismatches. Just how bad us it? I was at the Highlands vs Boyd County game and it was 36-0 with about 1:30 to go in the first quarter when the running clock began. How many other running clocks were there tonight? Let us know if your game had a running clock.

Boyd County @ Highlands It probably ends there, but if they win then @ Ashland (who already beat them this season) or @ Holmes @ Johnson Central (who already beat them this season) or @ Cov Cath @ probably Lexington Catholic or Boyle County.

It does not matter what happened last week, last year or what is written on the shirts or the opponents' shirts, they need to go 1-0 this week. As long as HHS players play like they need to go 1-0 each week and win for and with their playing brothers, then it will be hard to stop them.

Tonight's scores just might end the debate on who is number 1 in 4A. However, the real test will come in Bowling Green in early December, just like it should be and just like it has the last five years.

Do you realize that St. X has a chance to be the #1 seed in Ohio's DI Region 2? Maybe not accidental, by a well devised game plan for the "Battle of North Bend Road"

It states that these are teams with at least 600 wins. However, #2, #9, #13 and #14 do not have 600 wins. Misprint or does it mean 600 games?

Does this mean that Male is the #1 seed in the District with St X 2, T 3 and Manual 4, no matter the outcome of the Male Manual game?

Wouldn't Dixie and SK each have to win two games to meet in the playoffs?

I am not sure why you chose to point out these seven teams as they are not the only teams to play KY teams. Why not point our Finneytown (#22 in D V Region 18), CCD (#10 in D VI Region 22 even though they are 7-0), Aiken (#20 in D VII Region 26), Ironton (#3 in D V Region 17), New Richmond (#8 in D III Region 10 and probably hurt by Grant County's tie), and the others? Turpin is also hurt by their other four (4) losses. They are only 2-5 with wins over team Cincinnati Western Hills (2-5) and Withrow (0-7). As for Sycamore, they are 4-3 with wins over teams that are 1-6, 3-5, 1-6 and 2-5. IMO, it appears the Turpin and Sycamore are not very good teams.

LOL NO NKY team has EVER put a running clock on Highlands. Only one team ever did. Do you know who that was?

It does not matter who wins a coaches poll. It matters who wins on the field. Just ask the Colerain Cardinals, poll champ in the Cincinnati Enquirer for OHIO teams for the last two years, but Moeller won the OHIO DI championship both years.
