What will it take to stop Highlands?

Featured Replies

So around week 1-2 people were talking and wondering. Then they had some lumps here and there that had me wondering will the Highlands supporters back out on support of their new coach or will the program/community as a whole just gear down and ride this thing out.

I can't imagine any team in their class or the state at this point wanting to play Highlands. They're starting to prove something IMO at this point. They're still HHS.

If Hoge stays healthy someone will need to score 35+ to have a chance to beat them. I only see Johnson Central, Boyle Co. or LexCath with a chance. I don't think anyone from the West has a chance but I said that last year so what do I know.

Is their defense as bad as last season's? If so that gives any team a chance.

The defense is dinged but has played better this year Unless someone has an offensive line the size of Elder or Miami Columbus or the speed and play makers like Bryan Station they should be okay. Like I said it will take 35+ to beat them like Collins last year. Last year the D gave up scores of 44, 26, 25, 69 and 35 in games they won. We lost 30-27 to Elder and 37-34 to Collins. This year Elder got 49, Miami Columbus got 38 and the next highest total was Paducah Tilghman with 17. They aren't great but are better than last year

To stop Highlands just schedule a JV game. Easy as that.

You are like the energizer bunny UK...just keep going...and going... and going...and going:)

I agree with dmh. You better be able to put up 35 or so, because NOBODY has stopped the HHS offense lately - not even CC and Elder. A team with a big offensive line and good skilled guys that could control the ball against the HHS D could make a game interesting if they were able to finish drives. I don't know enough about Johnson Central to know how they would match up against HHS. Lex Cath seems down this year...Boyle Co - I don't know anything about them and their style of play. Owensboro, last night scores makes me believe they may be in trouble against HHS...

You're gonna need a bigger boat...
