Nothing will stop Highlands. They may not win state every year but stopping Highlands isn't something that happens. You may beat them but they'll get up and come back strong. Beating Highlands doesn't equate to stopping Highlands IMO because they are never going away. You don't stop Highlands. You get on their level.

I think a little too much credence is being given to Week 11 results. Teams take odd approaches in week 11 as that the games mean essentially nothing unless a tie breaker is in the mix. I'll still say Owensboro on a turf field with a one-hitter-quitter game is a contender. You never know about Boyle and Chuck Smith and Lex Cath, if they could ever get healthy, is dangerous too.

 

...and as someone else alluded to, injuries can change the scope of things dramatically.

I am terrified that someone will print out all of your posts about how great SK is and how they are going to take down the Birds and pin them all around the Highlands locker room. The team will be so exhausted, from rolling on the floor laughing, that they won't be able to compete. 1-25

I can assure you that nobody on that football team or a part of that program is predicting a route or a given State Championship...:thumb:

 

Heck, Highlands has to get there first and then if they are fortunate enough, I doubt that they will allow themselves to fall into any hyped up nonsense suggesting that nobody can beat them...Just sayin

Obviously no one can know if or when HHS loses. I believe they are playing well enough to make a long run but I haven't seen JC or OHS so making a statement about the possible matchup or outcome is a waste of time. It would seem CCH would have a great desire to play HHS yet again but only time will tell if that occurs. I do know that this year's HHS has lost a few key players and that should be cause for concern. That stated they filled the holes admirably last evening in BG. I also know many detractors of HHS will point to last years championship game yet lets not forget that Collins played a nearly perfect game and had a very improbable win by way of the backup QB completing the winning pass. Lastly the Birds have a couple weeks to heal the less severe injuries which should add some depth to certain positions. It is unfortunate for Abner, Watson and a few other seniors their playing season has ended but HHS does have a remarkable ability to bounce back from the loss of players of their ability.

Agreed on the bolded part as its next man up on season ending injuries but for those nicked up, they are simply "resting" for the playoff run. :thumb:
