What team is going to have toughest time competing in state playoffs this year, based on their position?

- Home against 4-Wayne (last year's state runner-up, granted Wayne is down)

- Road against 1-Corbin (No. 1 seed, ranked in top-10, long road trip)

- Road against 1-Louisville Central or 2-Bell County (E'town hasn't fared well against either

- Road against 1-South Warren (unbeaten, SW has crushed E'town twice in two years)

- Final against 1-Belfry (rematch of their state final a few years ago when E'town couldn't win when it had three FBS players in QB Chris Todd, TE/Lineman Zipp Duncan and OL/DE Brandon Deaderick).

Class 5A Region 4

Pulaski County, Southwestern and North Laurel.

 

Who ever advances from this region will have to work for it.

For sure. With St. X looming in the second round and the T-Male winner in the 3rd round I'd say their road to Bowling Green is one of those "you can't get there from here" situations.

Trinity - A 2.5 hr+ drive At Henderson 1st, then likely at Male in 2nd, then likely vs St. X in 3rd, then likely at Scott County in 4th, then State

All the teams in the top of the 6A bracket

Henry Clay in Round 1

Scott County in Round 2

Central Hardin/Bryan Station in Round 3

Best Louisville team in Round 4

Dixie Heights/Simon Kenton in Finals

I didn't list McCrackens 5 possible games before but I will now using calpreps/maxpreps computer state rankings all classes.

1. Manual #8 in the state.

2. St X #3 in the state

3. Male #1 in the state

4. Scott Co #5 in the state

5. Dixie #4 in the state

 

They will miss #2, 6, and 7

#2 is trinity and they simply cant play both male and trinity, 6 &7 are in a different class.

Mathematically nobody can play a tougher road.

Pulaski, a team that three weeks ago seemed like a lock to make it to the Finals will likely have to go:

1. Harlan and Larkey in the mud that is Pulaski's home field...which is tough

2. The fighting D. Harris's in the mud...did I mention he's a big, powerful mud thriving back?

3. Southwestern who physically beat them down in week 9

4. Anderson

 

That's a tough four games, and is even tougher without Hall.

E'town.

Those 3 were just juniors that year when E-town was the runner-up, and they didn't win it the next year either, losing by a big margin to Corbin in the region finals.
