Is Cody playing for Dixie?

Were you expecting a closer score? WV played a top 5 team in the state without their big man Miles, this looks about right.

WV big man Dieonte Miles was injured on 12/5 and sustained a 2-4 week injury from what I was told by people around the program. That would hopefully put him back in by the end of this month and in plenty of time for the 8th region all A.

Did Miles or Shazier play for WV? If WV was without those 2 of their top 6 guys in the rotation that is an impressive game for them.

Glad to see these 2 playing each other this year. Without Miles and it being at Oldham you would have to think Oldham wins this one.

I would venture to say Miles will not be back for this game, they will be lucky to get him back in December. More than likely looking at a January return which is in his best interest.

Are you saying they need to be playing at a college? The court is regulation size for hs correct?

How close are the 8th region teams of Oldham County and Walton-Verona to cracking the top 20?

Interesting, no Miles in the lineup. They score 26 more than they did first 2 games but give up about 20 more. Very impressed by this with WV missing their big man. Any details?

Sounds like Anderson is healthy, Miles will be out for a few week for WV from what I am hearing. Still would think this will be a good game.

Sounds like he has full range of motion but will have to wait to make sure nothing is torn, looking like he will miss a few weeks at this point if nothing torn.

Shoulder dislocation for Miles. Crazy part is Miles only played about 8 minutes in the game due to foul trouble and not starting the game and they still held Gallatin to 31..

Looks like this is shaping up to be a great game and maybe a preview of the "All A" finals. Will we finally get to see Brennan Stanley play his first minutes for the Bearcats? Gallatin is tough at home, you have to be atleast 10 points better to beat them there. Should be fun to watch.

Im hearing he has been cleared to go, staff is just being cautious and making sure he is completely healed.

Dieonte Miles lead the way for WV with 17pts and 9 rebs without playing in 2nd quarter due to foul trouble, he dominated the last 4 minutes. Dixie played tough and is very athletic. WV played without Brennan Stanley entire game.

He is the son of UK assistant Kenny Payne. I believe his name is actually Zan.

I think people are thinking that WV is in mid season form. They have had their entire team together for 2 weeks and Brennan Stanley has never stepped on the floor in a game/scrimmage with team. It will be weeks before we see the real WV, this game will be much closer than expected.

First game for each team tonight. Heard that WV is still without Stanley from an ankle injury, not sure of his return date. This should be a solid first game match up as Dixie lost a lot but has plenty of talent filling in lead by senior Tyler Schreck. This will be Roddy Stainforth's first game at the helm for Dixie and I could see the outcome going either way.

Almost spit the drink out of my mouth reading the comments that Walton-Verona was dodging Beechwood this year. Yes, Walton-Verona was scared to schedule Beechwood so they instead picked up King of the Bluegrass, Oldham County, Anderson County and Campbell County that were all not on schedule last year.

No one has seen Walton-Verona at full strength with Stanley on the floor and in their first scrimmage they were missing Stanley and Jones, 2 very good scoring threats. I think people are holding out until they see them at full strength.

Heard the newcomer Stanley and Jones did not play today?

I am going to say you will not see top notch Walton-Verona for at least another month plus. They have had 7-8 basketball players total for JV/Varsity until this weekend when the football team lost. They got 8 players from the football team including 4 guys that will be in the top rotation. Such is life at a small school, the hope is that they are playing good basketball around Christmas time and for the regional all A tournament.
