How close are the 8th region teams of Oldham County and Walton-Verona to cracking the top 20?

I think there are a lot of people looking forward to their game this week at Oldham County on Friday.

Glad to see Madison Central ranked. They are the real deal, but very hard to come out of 11th region. 5 of this week's top 20 are in the 11th region.

And that doesn't even include 5-0 Woodford County who host your Cardinals this week. You're right, the 11th is TERRIFIC!

Corbin and Knox Central from the 13th are both in the rankings. I’m going to mark at least one of their games on my calendar to attend. Should be a shootout. I saw Knox Central in the WYMT Mt Classic and they are the real deal. If Corbin is rated 5 spots better than them, as in the BGP poll, they must be loaded because I know for sure Knox is. The Panthers blew through the WYMT with double digit easy wins over Wolfe County, Knott County Central, and Floyd Central. Very impressed with their team.

How about the two games on the 12th to keep an eye on:

2. #2 Covington Catholic hosting Ohio's #1 team, Cincinnati Moeller.

Knox is in the CFIT @ Corbin. Game will probably be Dec.30. Also, Knox comes back to Corbin again on Jan. 19. Should be something else. Andrew Taylor had 42pts and 15 boards on Sat. Will be fun watching Taylor and Turner battle it out.

My Christian County Cols look to have a special team. And they still have 2 starters out. langhi could return in within the next two weeks and Trice within the next 3-4 weeks.

 

Graves County looks tough too.

 

I'll be interested to see how UHA from the 8th district does over the next two weeks. THeir one loss is to #20 Graves on a night when they played very poorly. If they can beat hoptown tomorrow as well as Paducah Tilghman in a couple of weeks I'd think they would get a crack at the top 20.
