I didn't say he was 17. I said that I had seen on Twitter that Broughton and Asher are 17. I believe Rice is 16.

Not to take away from his ability, but is he another NorthLaurel player that's really old for his grade? Based on Twitter, Broughton and Asher recently celebrated their 17th birthdays. That's really old to be a sophomore. Again, they're all good players, but I think the ceiling gets a little lower when age comes into the equation. Since this topic seems to be about "potential", I thought it was relevant to address.

Coach Gaither does a great job. Kidwell is a wonderful leader. We have a couple of shooters. But there's not very much else. Especially in the way of size. I fear it will be a long year for the Titans.

Rankings are such an easy target. Anyone with half a pulse and a blogspot account can do them. If anything, we've learned that most of these guys don't watch teams, or individuals play very much. They just rely on word of mouth.

If your definition of "legit" is Ray Spaulding, no. LOL. But Bullitt East has 2 pretty good bigs in Bacon and Farris. I didn't see PRP last year. They usually have some size though. How big is Gaines?

I don't think Doss can pull it off. They lack a legit post player, have a new coach, and they still haven't proven they can win. JTown is probably a little high on there too. They most likely won't get out of their district with Bullitt East and Fern Creek.

This may sound odd. But why is Dunbar playing in a showcase being held at Dunbar?

Marshall seems to be dipping into Kentucky for recruits now. Ryan Taylor, former Louisville commit that played at Western high school is there. Shane Hall was committed, but I guess he's decided not to play. Thieneman commits. I also saw Dyaste's Twitter yesterday that the PG from Bullitt East is visiting there this week. Anyone know of any other KY kids they're targeting?

I totally agree. It's tough for a freshman to make an impact in the 6th or 7th region. It's going to be even tougher for a team that relies mostly on freshmen. They have Bullitt East in their district as well. Probably going to be a couple of years if FC is really going to make some noise.

Congrats to him. Had the opportunity to see him play a few times. I think he'll do well at Samford.

My understanding is that Drabo is at Western. I'm not a buyer of Male as long as Miller is the coach. I've watched high school basketball in KY for a long time. He always has seemed to get a pass somehow. He had some very talented teams at Moore that always seemed to under achieve. And honestly, since arriving at Male, a school that has historically had the best athletes of any public school in JCPS, he's underachieved. I'd say he's probably on his way out the door if he has the same problems this year. Last year they struggled to get the ball across half court. Do they have any guards?

These are better than Bolus, but still seem a little off. I'm just not a fan of rankings. Especially when kids are still developing.

When it comes to coaching, Fairdale has always kept it "in the family". Hicks is a good hire. He gets what Fairdale basketball means to that community.

Completely agree with the top 10. I think Bullitt East will be the 2 though. Nobody will touch Trinity this season.

As far as I know, they'll depend heavily on Matt Miller. Any transfers in or out?

They haven't been good since Morrow was there. I don't thnk that's changing any time soon.

I've had the pleasure of seeing him play a few times. He's an absute scoring threat every time he touches the ball. Really fun to watch.

I believe that's the direction it's gong everywhere. That's why international ball has caught up with the US. They only do club ball. With the amount of turnover at schools now, and kids transferring like crazy, if I had a son or daughter that wanted to only do AAU, I'd be all for it.

What's the 2017 class look like? It seems like there are a lot of kids getting publicity and offers playing up in Louisville this week.

This guy is so out of touch it's incredible. If there are names on here that you don't recognize, there's a pretty good chance they paid money to go that camp that he puts on.

That tournament has really suffered in recent years.
