Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Male. Remember, please be constructive.

Obviously Will Parker is the of the top players in the 7th region and paired with "mini Parker" (junior Alex Cook) will be the duo that leads the team. Backcourt will be an issue but the biggest obstacle is that they are in the 7th region and probably the third best team behind Trinity and Ballard.

I was thinking Eastern would be a legitimate 3rd place possibility too. Seems I read when Henley took over that he really liked his younger group who should be getting to varsity upper level by now.

I'm waiting until we get closer to the season to get too high on Male. Their guard play really hurt them last year and I couldn't believe their record by the end of the year.

 

The Bulldogs have players and should be solid. Here's hoping they don't get a repeat of last year.

Male was really inconsistence last year, Parker might be the second best big in the region behind Spalding (trinity). I know they have had an asst. coaching turn over; this might help rejuvenate a team who struggled last year. They have Chris Drabo who came in as the top freshman in the city, yet has not seen the floor for whatever reason. They could be the best low post team in the region they just need to play like it and that was the same problem they had last year.

I believe Drabo is enrolled at Iroquois.

My understanding is that Drabo is at Western. I'm not a buyer of Male as long as Miller is the coach. I've watched high school basketball in KY for a long time. He always has seemed to get a pass somehow. He had some very talented teams at Moore that always seemed to under achieve. And honestly, since arriving at Male, a school that has historically had the best athletes of any public school in JCPS, he's underachieved. I'd say he's probably on his way out the door if he has the same problems this year. Last year they struggled to get the ball across half court. Do they have any guards?

The only guard they have returning that played quite of bit last year is Brandon Horne but I see more of a shooter than playing the point.

Drabo leaving i missed that one. He didn't play a lot for what ever reason last two years. I have also heard that Miller was going to be gone after this year, and Terrence Moorman from western was going to get the job. This was before Mr. Mike had "problems" at Male.

Parker does/did have an offer with Parker. Not sure of his plans or status but I just guessing he is trying to play D1.
