Rank The Top 10 Teams In The 6th & 7th

Featured Replies

Regardless of region, how would you rank the 10 best teams in the 6th and 7th for the upcoming season?

Dont know enough to rank top 10 in the 6th, but it should be bullitt east at the top. Also i believe sharp shooter tyler sharpe could be 6th region player of the year.

Combining the 6th and 7th, how would you go?

Example:

1. Trinity

2. Ballard

3. Doss

I wish I knew more about the Sixth heading into next season. Just too hard for me to do at this point.

I'm also flummoxed as to where to stick Ballard. Two transfers out. Appears to be another transfer in.

I'll tell you this: as of right now, I'll take Trinity No. 1.

The question then becomes whether Ballard's two out, one in make them still good enough for No. 2, which is where I'd have them before the transfers.

Unless something drastic has happened (which I've never heard of Ballard losing two kids of that caliber to transfer at once either), then Ballard will still be Ballard.

The next question I'd have is what Eastern, Male, and Manual will have. I know Eastern was supposed to be young last year and has Henley. Male had some talent last season, but describing them as inconsistent would be putting it mildly. Manual will have Sutton, but do they have enough pieces around him to contend with Ballard 1-10?

If not one of those, unless it's Wagenner or Doss (or maybe someone similar that will pop up as this year's surprise team), methinks the answer is yes for Ballard at 2.

With traditional power PRP reeling a little from last year's graduations and no one like Fairdale or Bullitt East really standing out, then I'd think Ballard is there by default, but I'm not as up on Louisville as everyone else is either.

So... total crapshoot here:

1) Trinity

2) Ballard

3) Bullitt East

4) Eastern

5) Doss

6) Male

7) DuPont Manual

8) St. Xavier

After that I feel like I just don't know. PRP is never going to be completely terrible, but they're basically building from the ground up.

Waggener had a nice season last year but were very young and it remains to be seen if they can take a step up (Did they lose some kids to transfers?). If not, they could find themselves just outside that top five. I felt like they were that close last year.

DeSales lost a ton of scoring as did Iroquois and I don't know what they have coming up in replacement.

Doss was tough for me to place. They'll miss Little's scoring, but I really feel like Tony Williams is going to do outstanding things there. He led St. Francis to their best season in probably 20 years in 2013-14.

Completely forgot about X. They seem to be building up.

I believe Doss is going to have issues with new coach this year. Biggest is will the kids be coach-able to allow Coach Williams to do his job.

1. Trinity

2. Eastern

3. PRP

4. Bullitt East

5. Ballard

6. Waggner (might be higher. depends on younger talent)

7. Doss

8. Male (might be too low but they struggled last year with loads of talent)

9. Central, Manual

10. St X.

What am I missing with regard to PRP? They lost a ton. What should I be looking out for going into this season?

Richard Gaines should be the center piece of the team. Guards Khalid Raheem & Hunter Stevenson played big minutes for the them last year as well. Just with the attrition of the other teams and the coaching they have, they should be good.

Was just using Doss as an example because they were the first 6th Region team that popped into my head.

It's not far off. They return a few solid players but lose Montrell Little's 18 ppg. I do think Tony Williams is a heck of a coach and if he can get those guys to buy in early, given that this is shaping up to be a bit of a down year in the Sixth, they can have a heck of a season.

I believe Tyler Jefferson (WKU Football commit) is not playing this winter. He did not play with Doss over the summer but played AAU ball with the Retros. He could change his mind but we would be a big missing part of the team if he does not play.

Doss strting point guard tore his ACL at State aau. There season could depend on his successful return.

1. Trinity (head and shoulders above the rest)

2. Eastern

4. Ballard

8. PRP

9. St. Xavier

10. DeSales
