  1. Now that the season is over I thought I would share this highlight reel of Tates Creek's Sophomore QB, Graham Gordon. Graham finished with 2327 yards passing, 16 passing TD's and 6 rushing TD's, with a 56.4% completion rate. So far he is being looked at by Western Kentucky and Indiana State. Hope you enjoy the clip... Graham Gordon - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl
  2. Has anyone had any experience with NUC? I know some of Tates Creek's football have been selected to attend. I also know that Marcus Mariotta (Oregon's starting QB) played in last years game as a senior. I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth attending...
  3. What "recruiting service"? Sorry... I'm a little green here.
  4. I agree... I saw Harlan County shut down Dennis Oxendine in the running game when they played Creek earlier in the year. They are just to solid up front. Even if Damien could split out to play receiver (which is how Creek moved the ball on HC), I don't think they have the QB that can consistantly get it to him... Will be a tough game for Southern...
  5. Dennis Oxendine on a kick return and Graham Gordon on 4 yard run (broken pass play)...
  6. Harlan County has a pretty good defense, passed for 350 yards on them. Scott County has a pretty good defense, threw for 240 on them... I'm calling the upset!!! 55 to 48 Creek :-)
  7. I see Coach Harmon taking his most talented players and leaving them on the field, on both sides of the ball... Something he hasn't done all year (don't ask me why)... My players to watch for Creek in this game: Taylor, Dunn, Oxendine, Wilkerson (on Offense) and Taylor, Oxendine, Carter, Bettlach, Nassr (on deffense)... This was my favorite game that Creek played last year (yes, even though they lost), I expect nothing less this year... In my oppinion, we will be watching the two best QB's in Lexington High School football (since Kyle Bolin's unfortunate injury) go at it... I see a lot of balls being thrown... It will be exciting to see who comes out on top...
  8. I've been running over these numbers since Central beat Creek... It looks like Creek will be headed to St. X for a playoff game whether they win or lose this Friday... Unless GRC beats Central... I know I posted on another thread that the GRC/Central game is anyone's game, but... I hoping gas prices fall before Friday...
  9. I don't know... After seeing what Lafayette did to Central I'd say this game is up in the air. 28-21 is probably right, but I have no idea who ends up on top...
  10. I agree... Is there a reason Marshal Gant isn't playing defense? I know for a fact that Marshal can hit hard and follow through on a tackle. He's huge and quick... He's got nice hands and makes a good tight end, but if you're not wanting to play him on both sides of the ball, I'd put him on defense...
  11. Up until the last 3 or 4 minutes of the first half, I thought Clark County was going to blow Creek out. But that seems to be the theme for the 'dores this year. Creek has been behind going into the second half in every game they have played with the exception of Corbin. Oxedine put on a clinic last night... Rushing, Recieving, Int's, Kick returns... The only thing he didn't do is tackle someone, but no one else was tackling either so why break the mold. I haven't said anything all year, but it might be time to stop throwing the ball around so much during practice and hit the "Oklahoma" drills a little more (and that says a lot coming from me!!!)...
  12. Lexington Hearald Leader reported today that Tates Creek's Sophmore Quarterback Graham Gordon has unofficially broken the school single season passing record. The old record was set back in 1986 at 1700 yards. Graham is currently at 1795 with a few games left to play...
  13. Those are some solid numbers across the board...
  14. Wow... hate that I'm just now seeing this thread. Goingfor2 is spot on as usual with what's going on at Creek. RJ Taylor had a couple of the prettiest catches that I've ever seen in last weeks game against Central. Pulling both catches in over the shoulder in extremely tight coverage, one was for a TD... Looking forward to seeing more of that this week.
  15. This was a great game... a real nail biter. Creek was down at the end of the first half (I think the score was something like 21 to 6, Central). Creek came back strong in the second half. Creek had the ball last and was moving down field looking for a tie, when a bad "no call", which looked like pass interference to me (on third and long) stalled the drive... Game ended on a strong pass rush from Central to force an incomplete pass with around 45 seconds left on the clock... Looking forward to a good game against GRC this week...
  16. Hillarious... see ya Joker... :-) How is the offense only "moderately improved"? Last year, through 5 games the offense piled up 65 points, compared to this years 141 points (that's an increase in production of more than 115%). Through 5 games last year, they piled up 266 yards passing, compared to 1383 yards through 5 games this year. The running game has suffered some due to the production of the passing game, 950 yards last year compared to 450 this year. However, the overall total offensive yards through 5 games is up from 1180 total yards last year to 1833 yards this year (that's an increase in offensive production of over 55%)... I guess you'll have to define "moderately improved" to me, because that looks like leaps and bounds improvement... I'd also like to point out that the bulk of the receiving unit are Juniors, receiving passes from a Sophomore quarterback (that's ranked #1 in 6A, and #4 overall in the state of KY)... No argument here, defense needs work and lots of it... but you can't take away what this offensive unit has managed to put together in just one year.
  17. I told myself I wasn't going to post on this thread... but I couldn't help myself... :-) First, no one "let" Creek score a touchdown. It was a 25 yard strike down the middle of the field that was taken another 55 yards for an 80 yard TD pass... Second, they moved the ball effectively against Scott Counties secondary. The ref's called a fumble in the End Zone on a one yard QB sneak (how you fumble in the end zone is beyond me? He was already in, and it was already a touchdown). There was also a TD taken away from Creek on a 10 yard QB scramble on 4th down. QB was actually up ended, but it looked like he had the ball over the pylon when he was hit out of bounds, they placed it on the one inch line (pretty keen eye sight for that ref). However, NONE of this changes the out come of the game! It just makes Creek look a little less sad. 243 yards of passing offense in the first half for Creek against the #4 ranked team in 6A ball isn't to shabby. 3 Turnovers on their first 3 possessions didn't help Creek out, because there was no stopping the Cardinals offense. This is no different than the Harlan County game, only Creek didn't have the turnovers and did a better job finishing off drives... Tates Creek has a lot of talent. I'd say there will be some serious evaluation of the defense this week. I'd even bet some kids will be moved around in their respective positions to make this team more competitive defensively... I'd also say there will be a lot of tackling drills being run this week... Creek is 10 times better than they were last year, and has something to build on to finish up the second half of the season heading into the playoffs. FYI: Scott County is the real deal... I expect Creek to be much more competitive moving forward having played a team of this caliber. The "2A Championship" Comment.... Hilarious!!!
  18. Just curious... Which kids on this list are not Seniors?
  19. Creek's defense has had a rough time defending against the run this year. 5 turn overs against Henry Clay didn't help them either. I see them learning from their mistakes, and showing up more focused against Scott County. I'm not counting Creek out of this one. I see them in it to the very end, in another high scoring game. Looking for a big upset here... Go Creek!
  20. That's awesome! Thanks for the heads up...
  21. I have to wonder if some coaches don't submit stats because they are not worth submitting?
  22. I'm a little biased, but seeing Tates Creek "Sophmore" Graham Gordon at number 4 is pretty impressive. On a team that has been running the ball for as long as anyone can remember...
  23. Completely agree... Why is Friday taking so long to get here!?!
