I agree... the numbers I posted on Henry Clay above, were from last weeks game against Belfry, should have said that I guess. But you're right, these two teams match up well against each other. Speed on speed... should be very exciting!!!

Henry Clay only attempted 8 passes, and completed 7 for around 240 yards. 5 of those passes went for 30 to 40 yards, and 1 went for 73. I doubt they will try and pass alot, but the hadful of times they do try, will be key to stopping them. This will be a biggest test that Creeks talented secondary has had so far this year. Stopping Elijah Bell will need to be their focus. I look for Taylor, Oxendine and Carter to make some big plays. My sleeper pick to have a solid game on defense this week is Ryan Betlach (spelling?). I'm looking for some big plays on offense from Creek. This has the making of a high scoring game, unless Clay's passing game is shut down. Solid open field tackling will be a key for Creek to prevent those big plays from happening... easier said than done I'd say... GO CREEK!!!

I didn't realize Ruddell was being inducted into a Hall of Fame tonight... what for? Player? Coach?... Just curious... Tates Creek has one weekness, and they have got to figure out how to correct it, or it will be a long season, full of nail biters. There are only so many on-sides kicks that they can recover... Just the same, hats off to Creek on a solid win. These kids have talent and heart, and talent + heart = unlimited potential... Go Creek!!!

He has good size and definately the kind of size D1 schools look for in a QB... I'd say he needs to increase his numbers from last year a little... if he want's a D1 scholarship... Look's like he had a 51.4% completion rate last year, with 32 TD passes to only 5 INT's is solid though... anyone know his numbers so far this year?

Sorry... read through that post to fast... "drops" are a QB's worst enemy sometimes, and can kill their numbers. In this case it was the difference in 75% and 67.5%... Amazing what a difference 3 catches will make in a QB's stats...

No doubt, Bolin is a fantastic QB... his numbers speak for themselves, and I can't wait to see him play at Louisville. 27 of 40 is actually 67.5% completion percentage. Don't get me wrong, that's a fantastic number given the team he was playing, just wanted to point out the math... I think I get that from my wife :-) Does anyone have some numbers on Northern KY, QB's (maybe that Campbell county kid, Durham I think is his name), or Trinity's QB, Wright... Just trying to see how everyone is fairing until khsaa start posting numbers...

I haven't had a chance to see Corbin play yet. I'm hoping to see some film on them by tomorrow. If they have a big line with a big bruising back like Harlan County has, then Slink may be right. If they don't... Slink may be wrong... Creek put up 28 on West Jessamine, but to be honest, take away two plays due to first game jitters on a rookie sophmore QB and that score is more like 42 to 9 (I'm refering to his fumble inside the 20, and blocked at the line pass inside the 20 on scoring drives, in the first half). Harlan County's secondary wasn't the best, but that defensive line was very good, fast, and hard hitting, I mean brutal. Creek still managed 54 on the board... I'll wait until I see the film before I make any more comments, but that Creek offense is just getting warmed up. I really feel like the only way to beat the Commodores is to out score them (i.e. have a good running game)... I'll chime back in later...

KHSAA doesn't post anything until the end of week 3, so I'm curious how the Kentucky QB's are stacking up. Here's what I have through 2 games from wlstats.net. Can anyone give me more information on other QB's around the state... I'm just trying to get an early idea of how everyone is doing... Efficiancy, Completion %, Total Yards, TD's, Graham Gordon - 192.8, 60, 555, 6 (Tates Creek) Logan Woodside - 443.6, 81, 553, 9 (Franklin County) Garret Peavler - 174.4, 71.2, 482, 4 (Lafayette) Kyle Bolin - 132, 62, 482, 4 (Lexington Catholic) Ora Johnson - 146.2, 60.7, 382, 6 (Bryan Station)

It was a lot of offense. Harlan County had a big line and strong running backs that were hard for the Creekers to bring down. Tates Creek had speedy receivers that were just to much for Harlan County to handle. Creek just comes up short in the end. Probably the most exciting high school football game I've ever seen. Besides maybe Scott County, I'd say this was Creek's toughest opponent of the year. I'm looking forward to this Friday night to see how the Commodores respond...

I watched this game on iHigh, and I'll say this, Bowling Green is the real deal... tough, fast, and accurate... oh, and FYI, they are a class act.. they pulled their starters out after the 3rd QT, which is the reason this game is so close... congrats BG

Sorry... I disagree... I could give you 5 pee wee coaches in Lexington alone that could win with those teams... are you kidding me? Are you seriously going to place all the credit on coaching? OMG!!! Just when I thought I had heard it all... sorry dude... you just had the fastest horses...

Easy to say for a big city school without the constraints of public education... A derby winning trainer once told me, that you just can't win without a fast horse, you either have a fast horse or you don't... who has all the horses in this state?

guru, I don't know how that kid got so good looking ;-) ... I'm not big on predictions, but I'll predict this, Creek cracks this top 10 list by week 5... Also, and this really gets my goat, I think everyone needs to remember that these athletes are kids. Teenage boys... and what those boys did last year for Scott County was amazing, an undefeated trip to the state finals. For anyone to try and under mind that accomplishment is rediculous... Good luck to SC this season... until week 5... :-)

Sorry... I know this may be a little off topic, but I had to support Goingfor2 here on the Creek/Butler scrimage. I just got done reviewing the game film on hudl.com, and yes, all of Butlers starters (at least they all had3 the same numbers on their jerseys) played through the 3 rd quarter. Butler but what appeared to be their JV sqaud in, in the final minutes of the 3rd quarter. Creeks first touchdown was NOT a long run, but a 25 yard touchdown pass from Gordon to Taylor (I think it was Taylor). Gordon passed for 101 yards in the first half. Might have had 2 TD's, but had a drive ended on a questionable call ruling a pass incomplete. In the 3rd quarter Butler coughed up the ball, and Creek went in with a 24 pass completion to set up a 1 yrd passing TD. After 3 and out, Creek followed up with 54 more passing yds, capped by an 11 yard passing TD... then the JV came in at the end of the 3rd quarter. At the end of the day Butler's starting defense was passed on for 180 yards and 3 passing TD's... Sorry, I just couldn't let anyone take away what those young men accomplished in that scrimmage, they've worked to hard. If you don't believe these numbers, I'd be happy to post the highlight reel...

I agree with this statement even more now that I've seen some game time action. I also agree that all of these teams will visit the top 10 at some point... Well, minus Henry Clay, I think they are scetchy at QB which makes them to one dimensional...

I agree... I'll be on pins and needles waiting to see how the Creek defense comes into this game after the West Jessamine game. They have some hard hitters that should be ready to make a statement that they are capable of stoping the run game... GOOD LUCK CREEK!!!

I haven't seen John Hardin play, but based on what they managed to do to Henry Clay, I'd have to give them the upper hand. But make no mistake about it, they will have their hands full with West Jessamine. They are a physical team, and you can bet they'll be playing good hard nosed football looking for their first win. John Hardin wins, but they'll have to earn it...

I see another "West Jessamine" game ahead for the Creekers... If Harlan County tries to run between the tackles, they may have early success, but this defense will wear a running back out over the course of the game. Very excited to see the Creek defense come out and play strong on Saturday. Make no mistake, Harlan County will be ready to play ball after last Fridays loss... but my money is on Creek!!!

Passing: Graham Gordon (Completed 15 of 19, for 205 yds and a TD)

That's not the norm... I know Nicholasville was really worried about the traffic since it was the visitnich.com bowl, where both East and West Jessamine play back to back on the same field. The escort may have been to help get the buses through traffic...

HA! It's like you're reading my mind... I just logged back on here to give Marcus Wilkerson and TaVon Dunn their props, after watching the tape on iHigh. Marshal Gant also had a nice "critical" catch for 20 yards from the goal line. I hope you're right about Oxendine, I thought I caught him limping off the field in the 3rd. Didn't know if it was a cramp or that pesky hamstring. He sure looked good when he got the ball, and the nice one handed grab for an INT. Looking forward to next Saturday... GO CREEK!!!
