Tates Creek / Henry Clay Predictions/ Disussion

Featured Replies

Thoughts on a very big rivalry game in Lexington this week. Creek looking to go to 3-1 and Clay trying to balance out at 2-2.

This is Tates Creek's game to lose. They will need to have a balanced game across the board to win this week.

Creek by a Touchdown!

I agree. Tates Creek offense is pretty dynamic. They can hit the home run from multiple positions on the field. They played close to the best against Corbin, not really needing to show too much. Expect an attacking Creek offense to outs core Henry Clay in this one.

Thanks Gold. Will be interesting. Henry Clay came out and threw ball a ton against Belfry to get the win. That philosophy would play right into Tates Creeks strengths on Defense. Creek has a Top Notch secondary with 2 D1 corners. Clay would need to get back to the ground against Creek in my opinion. Tates Creek continues being impressive on offense. Gordon, the Creek QB has thrown for 786 yards 6 TDs and 1 Int. 4 different receivers have over 100 yards receiving and at least 1 TD. And Dennis Oxendine is a do it all back/ receiver who can hurt you multiple places. Also is 1 of the aforementioned corners.

Clay has the speed tandem of Bell/Jackson in the backfield. Ultra quick elusive backs, not very big however. But big time home run threats from anywhere on the field. Big time rivalry.

This has the makings of a Great game.

Henry Clay 28-21.

Henry Clay only attempted 8 passes, and completed 7 for around 240 yards. 5 of those passes went for 30 to 40 yards, and 1 went for 73. I doubt they will try and pass alot, but the hadful of times they do try, will be key to stopping them. This will be a biggest test that Creeks talented secondary has had so far this year. Stopping Elijah Bell will need to be their focus. I look for Taylor, Oxendine and Carter to make some big plays. My sleeper pick to have a solid game on defense this week is Ryan Betlach (spelling?). I'm looking for some big plays on offense from Creek. This has the making of a high scoring game, unless Clay's passing game is shut down. Solid open field tackling will be a key for Creek to prevent those big plays from happening... easier said than done I'd say... GO CREEK!!!

Good analysis Creekfan. I can't see that type of production for Clay in the passing game. In last years game Creek blanked Clay in the passing dept. if my mind serves me right (Big If). But I do expect Clay to be able to score points. Has the potential of a big time shoot out with a ton of speed and athleticism on the field for both teams. What a fun game to watch

I agree... the numbers I posted on Henry Clay above, were from last weeks game against Belfry, should have said that I guess. But you're right, these two teams match up well against each other. Speed on speed... should be very exciting!!!

Yeah. I knew what you meant. I was referring to that I couldn't see that type of production through the air being duplicated again against Creek.
