  1. Butler. Doss has not beat Butler since 1996. We have lost the last three games by a combine 16 points. 14-18 in 2016
  2. This should be a great game. S Oldham is well coached and has some great kids. This game is big for both teams and I am sure the kids will play at their highest level. Playing Coach Reed and his kids is an important part of the growth for our kids. Win or lose, Doss kids will grow from it.
  3. Coach Johnson, keep doing what you are doing. I can appreciate the work you have put in knowing the barriers you face daily. As you can imagine, I have caught this same heat and I have learned that D1 talented kids do not guarantee wins. Yes, they are talented, but it takes 11 kids on the field operating as one. These kids may make an amazing play that gives you a glimpse of their special ability, but they will not catch every pass, make every tackle and win the game because they are out there. I admire your work and enjoy watching your progress. Kudos to you
  4. Doss Sophomore Makale Buckner 18 carries for 163 yards and 2 TDs
  5. Believe it or not, my wife has a phone too. I asked her to post the varsity info.
  6. Doss 49 North Bullitt 6 after 3 Varsity quarters. JV 4th quarter just starting.
  7. You heard correct. He broke his leg, has had surgery to repair and has started his rehab. He is a strong kid and will do great in his recovery if it goes as planned.
  8. That is something we may do actually. My wife made that and i have a couple posters around the locker room and may make smaller versions for fans
  9. He plays for Olmstead North. I may know where he is going. Lol
  10. That should be the game for our District again. Maybe we can get over the 4-1 district record this year. It takes 5 wins to win our district.
  11. We only lost a RB amd WR on offense and LB and DE on defense. It is nice to have all of those starters returning. There is no shortage of WRs here and the Sophomore RB along with Knight-Goff should do ok in the backfield.
  12. Doss needs to be consistant and finish games late. This has been a problem in the past. There is a lot of talent and that shoiuld help to win games. Without the needed discipline it will just be another typical Doss team, average at best.
  13. Defensive Coordinator from Stanford makes a visit to Doss to see 2019 ShawnKel Knight-Goff and Ricky Barber. Big for the program
  14. It says a couple things. First, they were young, which makes a difference in close games. This came to light in the 4 games against Fern Creek and South Oldham, who were both in semi finals and Butler amd Ballard. Doss had the lead in all those games late and gave then up. Secondly, no senior leadership. Doss has had low numbers in their senior classes the past three years. They will have 21 seniors and 20 juniors in 2017. Thirdly, D1 ability doesnt guarantee to translate to wins. Lastly, their coach just might not be good enough to win. They will be a tough out in 17 regardless.
  15. I have enjoyed having coach Wright in our district here in Louisville. He is a great guy and the kids in Henry Co are lucky. He will do a great job and i wish him the best
  16. I am not sure the question is if there is reliable talent there at Doss. They have been in the last three years in the sweet 16, state runner-up, and regional runner up against a great Fern Creek team. They also only lost 2 seniors. I also know that there is a stack of resumes on the AD's desk. Tony did a great job at Doss, but he did not leave the cupboard bare. Whoever gets this job will be getting a program in great condition. There is plenty of talent in that building and more coming in every year.
  17. Any word on who? Flyer alumni, just curious
  18. Thats awesome. He is a very good kid and player. They will love him there
  19. We have finally found ourselves with larger classes. That should help some. We have had no mor than 9 seniors until this point and now are around 26 seniors and 23 juniors for next year. We lost 2 starters on each side of the ball and will havw some experience. We also have another 2019 that should pick up some offers in the next couple weeks and 2 with mid major offers already as well. Hopefully we can put it all together the next few years.
