I think this is a good discussion. What we see as current good jobs have potentially been turned into them. Speaking from my personal experience, many may have not considered Bryan Station a great place to be five years ago. The numbers were very low, wins were tough to come by, facilities were below average and some would say there was no support. I believe as a coach, you can make your place a good job. Each year since I have been at Station, opportunities at other schools have presented themselves and each year I remind myself that where I am is my “best job”. As the years have gone by, the list of programs that I consider to be better gets shorter. Here is what I believe makes Bryan Station a great place to work. 1. Admin Support- The admin understand that athletics can have a positive impact on our players. Support of the program comes easy when they see the impact on students.(players, band, cheerleaders and student body) 2. Athletes walking the hallways - BS has an unbelievable amount of talent walking the halls, our most notable player walked the halls for two years before being convinced to play football. Now he is a NFL Hall if Famer (D Dawson) 3. Alumni and Community support- Our alumni have so much pride in the school it makes for a great environment on Friday nights and allows for us to find support when we need it financially. 4. Culture- Our culture has been recreated in the last four years. It includes high academic effort, accountability, hard work and commitment and amazing assistant coaches. 5. Winning- Our turnaround is directly related to the previous 4 points. Everyone involved has made Station a “good job” I agree there are many good jobs out there, but some have been made good jobs because of the work and effort of all involved. Station is my “Good Job”

Great morning for our program. Great to see so many former players and coaches show up to support our team. You never know who will show up. Awesome to see some of our NFL guys make an appearance.

In 3 years of football, to date, Trenton Cutwright has only played 18 full games (24 others played 1-2 quarters because of Running clocks). 5943 passing 62 TDs 1600 rushing 20 TDs No telling what they could have been. I like our guy too!

FD is much better than their record. I think this game is going to be close and would not be suprised if FD won. This game will come down to which Douglass team shows up and who wins the turnover battle. I also think the team that can run the ball wins.

No, 6A this year 1,2,3,5 make up the west and 4,6.7,8 make up the East.

I think you might be to hard on them over the Station game. Last year they were 11-2 and I am sure, learning from my own experiences here, people were not lining up to play them. We wanted a high quality team to play and that’s what they are. None of us know, when we get into new contracts what will might be in those next two years. Heck, my first go at the new cycle happened before my first season. It was easy to get games because of where this program was. I am certain some of the teams we played year two, were not exactly happy having us on their schedule because they saw a 10 win team. Central Hardin has some very good players and may even find themselves into the regional final this year. Just never know. The roles could very well be reversed when we go there next season. Clearly coach does not dodge opponents.

RPI or not, the teams that show up in Regional and Semi final games are the ones that have won their way through. Our RPI will go down the next couple weeks, even with wins. I think by the beginning of playoffs, this gets shaked out. We have been fortunate enough the be in the top 4 or 5 in RPI each year. We also make sure we play the best schedule we can. A team that gets beat 36-3 does not necessarily mean they will not get better. The 36-3 loss is my best friend as a coach. Exposes our issues and allows us to fix things. Ultimately you have to beat the teams that present themselves in November. RPI buys you a 3rd and 4th round home game. By then, it shouldn’t matter. Ask Bullitt East.

10-6 Trinity at half. Not sure what level they are playing right now.

The game was moved to Saturday by the school board. They believe it will be easier to manage the crowd better during daylight. That game will still have a large crowd. It will be the only game in town and will draw. Regardless, the coaches did not have any input in this decision. If by chance we play each other later in playoffs, that game would be played on Saturday as well.

We might not win a game with this schedule, but our kids will play hard. It gets tough making a schedule when you have had a little success. We are very excited about this.

You know Douglass will stay my game 1 unless we end up in the same district. It will good for everyone. It will give the other schools the opportunity to build their programs.
