Burning Questions: Is GRC worthy of its top ten ranking? The Cardinals have recovered well from a three score Week 1 loss to Central Hardin. Wins over Belfry, Pulaski County, and Henry Clay have generated some momentum, but they're lacking a win - or even a good showing - against someone their own size. An opportunity to check off that box is right in front of them. 

Can Ballard regain last year's defensive mojo? In fairness, the Bruins are working with a unit that's mostly overhauled from 2022's unit. In terms of scoring defense, they're allowing three times what they did last season at nearly 30 points per game. That may not cut it against a GRC squad that comes in averaging 43 points and 416 yards during their modest three game win streak.

I'll take GRC in a close one since they are playing at home.

Respectfully disagree. Ballard probably wins this game, but I don't think a team that 30-pieced Belfry three weeks ago is a paper tiger.

Why would a 6A team beating a 3A team by 30 impress anyone. Let alone a 3A not named Bell, CAL or Mercer? GRC likely wins one game the remainder of their regular season.

GRC is head and shoulders better than Montgomery and Madison Central—like not even a question. I encourage you to watch them play. 
 
And I seriously believe they will have a punchers chance this week and against Bryan Station. 
 

They may not win those games, but I can assure you they will have a shot. They are a top-half team in 5A; and in my opinion that is no paper tiger.
