I doubt Jefferson County Schools could build if they wanted to. First it would have to be bonded more than likely. If it is bonded the district would have to put it where it fits in their priority of needs, compared to classrooms, science labs, library, school renovations, support services renovations or new facility. The state then approves this and only approves what is on the list in priority order. It is doubtful, that in a district as large as Jefferson County that a sports facility this costly would trump a new school, several educational or support(bus garages, food storage facilities, etc.). the state wouldn't let it happen, more than likely. In order to be a realistic possibility, it will have to be a private donor(s). Then the district loses some control and probably other revenue sources they normally get, such as concessions. Although it may sound like a great idea, the $$ may be available, they may not be allowed. The best way is for some huge donor to build, put their name on it and give it to the district. e.g. Guru Field

Do they fill their stadiums now? I haven't attended a Louisville area football game in a long time, but I would be surprised if a Seneca/J'town game would have 1000 fans. That doesn't warrant a gigantic stadium. I appears 4-5 schools draw very well regularly and those teams use Papa John many times. Kentucky football is not Texas football in excitement or fan drawing appeal, not even close. Just doesn't seem a fiscally responsible thing to do.

I think they would if they had the time to practice, same training facilities and work together. That's a lot of kids to choose from. Trinity's biggest advantage would teh amount of years they played together. How many Trinity player sget D1 scholly's on average per year? How many Class A? That might change my mind if there was a huge discrepancy.

If I am a 6A coach in NKY I want to play the best. I would keep my schedule to 5A and 6A programs. I would play one or two mentioned and then schedule what I would consider winnable or even games. Milk toast scheduling is not any good for the team that is way superior. There may be something to learn from it for the one getting pummeled, but not too much. I thought NCC in the past has been the best at scheduling. They played teams early that were better, took their lumps, but learned. They then made the playoffs count by going on long runs through the playoffs and winning one or two.

Not if I'm coach. I want to play because I would think I was going to be in the hunt every year. Schedules are made two years in advance, in most cases. There is nothing right now that would lead be to believe this trend will continue with them. As others say, this is pre mature.

I will take this further, if I was a 6A school I would try and schedule the 6A powers if they would play. I would not back away from Trinity, St X, Male, Manual, Scott Co., etc. I wouldn't schedule them all, but I would schedule 1 or 2 every year. I doubt Trinity would play many in state, though.

If I am a 6A school serious about making a state run and most NKY 6A's should be serious about advancing far in the state, I would play them in a heart beat. You have to know where you stand to be as competitive as you can. I am not sure they would blow them out every year, they haven't yet every year. I would not run from them and I don't think any 6A's in NKY would.

With the obvious placing of Trinity #1 eventually and moving everyone down a slot, pretty close. 1-4 (2-5) are probably interchangeable on a given night.

These two know how important it is to win the district and stay away from Johnson Central as long as possible in the playoffs.

I believe one of the best games this week as far as competitiveness goes. These two are evenly matched.

Probably the one sport where you can have a great team and run into a pitcher that is cranking. One player neutralizes everything. A great pitcher makes a huge difference in this sport, probably more than any other. Although good teams always win it, this sport probably is the one with the best team not many times. Thee odds are tehy will with their talent, but they have a tough region and when/if they do, it is likely to be with a very good but not awesome team. Now if they played three game series, they'd have one, more than likely.

You may be wondering why I was there with my 4 year old granddaughter. She is a pre schooler in Dayton and was in the homecoming parade. I would have stayed for it all had I been alone.

I attended most of the first half of this game. Then my granddaughter needed to go home. It was 7-0 Dayton when I left. It was evenly matched. I thought the the Green Devils could run it a little better and would probably prevail. Both teams played really hard.

I will keep saying this. Why would anyone watch something where they believe it is not balanced (if they want balance)? No one makes anyone watch anything. I choose to not watch Fox because I do not agree with their biases, as an example. I could care less if ESPN has a double standard. ESPN is a choice, not a mandate.

Guess that is were we differ. I could care less about that whn watching news. But I believe you are probably joking, well maybe.

They should fire Marvin at teh end of the season if they continue this type of play. I know they hired Highlands great Homer Rice back in the day. I don't see that now.

Why? If you don't live in the area, it is unlikely you know other region coaches. Unless you really follow teh high school game beyond your region. I don't know the name of Mayfield's, Bowling Green's, DeSales, CAL coaches names and many more. I follow teams not coaches.

Yep nothing was done and let me explain what happened. The kid's parents were either seperated or divorced at the time. He lived with mom in the school district where I was principal. In fact, not too far from where I lived. He lived with mom through high school. Dad, whom he never saw had a place in Ft Thomas. I reported it to the AD at the high school he would attend. They reported it t KHSAA, I was told, not certain, though. My guess, is he lived with dad an dmaybe mom eventually moved there, I don't know. To think I had it out for HHS is, as you said many did, well I could have craed less. I was up to my eyeballs with 1000 middle schoolers on a daily basis. HHS football was never on my radar. I saw something I thought was worong and still do by the way, did what I believed wa right to do and moved on. By the way I encountered several of these in my days as a principal and not all HHS. If I saw it, I reported it. What people want to believe they believe. To think things like this doesn't happen, didn't happen, and won't happen again is just naive. I am of the belief it happens all the time with some schools and have seen more than a few times. Maybe this was just an isolated incidence with a young coach. Maybe he just saw a random middle school game on the schedule and thought I want to go see some 13 year olds play a basketball game. Maybe he was just messing around with some goofy middle school principal. Maybe I just misread this whole thing. Bigger than me, I really don't care, never really did. It's the high school game for some, not all. I have lived this more than once. But maybe it's just all rumors and others do it but not my school.

Believe me I get what you are saying on rumors, however, I dealt with it, confronted it, and reported it (didn't stop it). Let me just say that when varsity football coaches, including the head coach attends a middle school basketball game which their school was not playing, which had no family playing, and wanted to talk to a basketball player from the school where I was principal after the game. When I asked why, the head coach smiled and said "dont worry if I don't talk to him tonight , I will eventually" I said I don't doubt that, but have a good evening. That player ended up playing at HHS and did very very well, one of the best. I know the player personally and he and I have had a laugh or two about it a couple of times.

I will not share them on here. That simple. Face to face I'd be glad to. If someone cant accept and understand that, because that is tehway I roll, on these things face to face. I get it, if that can't happen, and people have no reason that don't know me to believe me. I get that too. But if you really want to know. One instance is quite entertaining.

We need to talk some time, not on here. I witnessed things in the 90's first hand. This was as a principal in Kenton County. I know you probably believe that. But I know what I saw and witessed first hand. I won't violate the recruiting rules on here.
