How long will it be before no one in NKY will play CovCath in football?

Featured Replies

Assuming Covington Catholic beats Campbell with ease, CCH's non-district NKY opponents will all have been mowed down in rather convincing fashion by the Colonels. That may not happen every year, but I believe it is going to happen more and more. And if it happens more and more, it is only a matter of time before no one, outside of maybe Ryle, will play CovCath in football.

So I will ask you again, how long will it be before no one in NKY will play CovCath in football?

That's a big assumption.

The biggest thing that seems to separate the really good high school football teams from the good football teams is a D-1 quarterback. CovCath won't have that every year.

Maybe it'll free up space for a game with Simon Kenton.

I don't want to make this thread about Simon Kenton, but I think the Neers would do just the opposite, they would run away from scheduling a stronger CCH team.

I will say I enjoy the games with LexCath, Columbus SFD, and Indy Chatard. I wouldn't mind keeping them on the schedule as long as the games are competitive.

......wait for it.....

Do you disagree with my assumption?

As I was coming up with this killer idea for a thread, I was replaying those picture perfect passes in my mind and thinking to myself there is no way CCH is going to have that every year.

However, I see an undeniable, successful system.

The only one I am worried about there is the Knights.

This is a serious thread, and although I applaud your ...style... I expect to have a serious discussion with any Simon Kenton fans that want to dispute it.

I am completely confident you will generate some serious discussion.

This too shall pass.

Seriously, this thread doesn't have anything to do with Highlands.

CCH and Highlands have to play each other as long as they are in the same class.

You never really know.

This sort of thing happened to Highlands during their peak years under Mueller, correct? There weren't many (any?) non-district NKY schools on the Birds schedule during those years. So there is a precedent for it?

Edit: And by "it" I mean, NKY schools that didn't have to play Highlands taking their ball and going home.

The only one I am worried about there is the Knights.

CovCath is 0-6 lifetime against SFD?
