I think you had some older folks that had a tough time making the adjustment form slow pitch to fast pitch. Just like the area teams. Now that has completed and I agree the umpiring is much more consistent in the area.

How about Mike Listerman? Wouldn't that be something to see a former CCH head coach and Holmes assistant take the position. He is obviously a proven winner in said 35th district.

That is an easy line to fall on, but like others have said he has had talent there, and let's face it to go to the region in the 35th you have to win one game. So in 8 years his teams couldn't win 1 big game? Even if you are the lesser team you figure you win 1 of 8. I think Goetz is a nice coach, but CovCath in particular wasn't super strong these past eight years. Put it a different way. Even Beechwood made the Regional tournament in the last 8 years, and the Tigers sure aren't a basketball program. Goetz's run was a disappointment for Indians fans. I wish Erik the best of luck moving forward.

I don't doubt you know jahearme-but O'Hara is a 9th region guy and a team from the 9th NDA is still alive and yet he is doing the other semifinal game so that doesn't jibe with what you just posted.

I understand that. Here is what an outsider knows of the game. Daugherty is a great pitcher, but was pulled after two innings down 2 to 0. Then the mercy rule enforced after 5 innings with HC winning 10 to 0. Can somebody fill in the middle. Was PC pitching that bad. HC hitting awesome. Poor defense. What? Why was the starter pulled? To me this makes no sense at all. Looks like PC off to another bad year and HC off to another good one.

I agree with your some of your notion redhawnnation, but Russell left immediately after that Region win to coach at Campbell County. Henley left too, and is at his second place already after Holmes. So it may not be different, but the coaches don't seem to stay long either.

jb-St. X won 1 playoff game that year. They were out after round 2. A long way from being Ohio state champs that season. It was a neat win for the Bluebirds. Not against a super powerful Bomber team.

Thanks BlueBomber94. I have been telling Highlands fans that for a year plus. The Bluebirds SIGNATURE win was against a very poor finishing St. X team. Now let the Highlands faithful roll in with their chorus of the greatest ever.....haha.

Walton had a WB, but some parents complained, and he was removed. So the search is on for a top quality WB in Walton.

Have to agree with others here. To me it isn't the coaches at Walton, it is the parents that are the issue, and I suppose the administrators forced to listen to them. I have never seen a small town think they are so loaded with athletes and pro players that somehow just never got the chance. Humorous, except for how sad it really is. Winning the pee wee football championship doesn't mean that super stud is headed to play college football at Alabama, and winning a 3rd grade hoops tournament doesn't mean Coach K will be at Johnny's next game.

Congratulations to the winners. It has always been my opinion that some of this voting goes to players and coaches that didn't win the region. The co-coaches of the year would fall into this category, and while I would agree they were both very good, the best coach this year was Nicole L from NDA. Just a few years ago she was an assistant at Holy Cross looking for a job, then she got a good one and has made the most of it. Holy Cross has failed to make the region. Stamm did a very good job in the regular season, but once again Conner didn't make the region. As for Schaeffer vs. Voskuhl or Beal or Turner or Scott well they were all very good. Again congrats to the winners!

What about the cheerleaders? Or doesn't that count now?
