  1. I understand what you are saying too Beech Bum and I don't like to disagree with two posters that I like alot in you and Old Bulldog, but I think if you each sit back and think about it, then you are inadvertently cheapening what SK did this year. Who knows if Conner would have advanced out of the 8th region, or Scott out of the 9th? You could play that game forever. You root for Beechwood, and he pulls for Dixie. Think about it. If a certain SK poster would be questioning the validity of either the Beechwood Tigers or Dixie Heights Colonels had they made the state baseball finals as to whether or not they were really the best in Northern Kentucky, you would be outraged and rightfully so. Give credit where credit is due and that is to Simon Kenton in 2014. I think you will find it better to be a gracious loser and a humble winner as good things happen in the future for both of your ball clubs. Let the Pioneers enjoy their moment in the sun. Be happy for them. They deserve it. Then when the good times roll for your team hopefully the folks in Independence will celebrate your good fortune.
  2. Now wait a minute-they may have a smaller area to pull from. I don't know, but then they also can accept paying tuition students from outside of their area if the students inside of their area do not fill that particular class to capacity. In that, I do see an advantage for the independents over the public schools.
  3. I usually agree with you OB, but not this time. Simon Kenton CLEARLY was the best team playing out of Northern Kentucky by the end of the year. Conner and Scott would be next. That is why the district, region and state tournaments are played. You can say your team is the best all day long, but the tournaments are where you have to prove it. To me, you are being a bit hypocritical in your statements here vs. the Northern Kentucky All Star Teams thread. There you think King from Dixie should be on the team, and I agree-why?because his play backed it up. Dixie, CovCath, Beechwood and all the rest can say they were great this year, but they can't say they were the best. That honor goes to the Pioneers plain and simple. Coach Roberts and the boys got it done where it counts-on the diamond!
  4. I'd vote for any of these people. Ted Cruz can probably increase the Hispanic vote for the Republicans. I guess anybody could say free money and phones for everybody. No more income tax and lots of voters that previously voted for the Democrats may have to at least pause and think why are they really voting for the Democrats.
  5. Sad and funny at the same time. Money doesn't solve this issue.
  6. Do you think Kentucky is in the upper half of America in terms of education? Do you think Kentucky is looked to as a model of education?
  7. They hope you nod off after the second sentence. Jay Carney from the White House should have delivered this memo.
  8. You are correct Clyde. Having said that with this fiasco the KHSAA should review everything with regards to how this tournament is handled. Feel awful for Johnson Central.
  9. So to read that statement it looks like an appeal of judgment is not permitted. If the home plate umpire initially called it a homer as was written here, the game would have been over, and then that could not have been appealed? But it was. Talk about sentences that mean absolutely nothing with a lot of words that clarify nothing...
  10. And Kentucky is rocking on up on the national test level right?
  11. Oh they will-and will win at some point...
  12. Agreed. And before all of us were born-black parents in Africa sold their children into slavery. I wish this little piece of reality would be told too.
  13. The Prosecution rests and wins! MCPAPA-the 70's were a long time ago. Many posters on this board not even born then.
  14. I could see that. Coached some of the girls at Beechwood before, and was a jv coach at Holy Cross. Beechwood is turning in to Holy Cross West.
