Beechwood 8 Boone County 3 (9th Region Tourney)

With all the hype on the youngsters, I would say the veterans proved to be the difference. Senior Ryan Rendgering (sp?). And junior Trevor Booth had some clutch hits when the tigers needed it. Once Beechwood started working on the Rebels relievers, it was all over.

I believe all of the tiger runs came with 2 outs.

I should point put that my post made it sound like there were no contributions from the frosh. Feiger relieved and Brett slusher had some a nice hits.

Hopefully Ryan's dad was able to see him play, with all umping he does. :lol2:

Congrats to Trevor Booth, have known him since he was "knee high to a junebug", hard working kid. :thumb:

Congrats to both!!!

I saw the Combs kid in shorts after the game. Dude is BIG!

Saw and thought the same thing. He is a beast. Probably hasn't grown more than an inch since the 7th grade, but probably put on 100 lbs.

Kid had a tough day at the plate today, but we did get to see what is going to be known as "The Combs splits" to finish a double play late in the game. I have heard talk of it, but never have gotten to witness first hand.

Combs bests days are ahead of him.

Congrats to the Rebels on a great year. Ganns was lights out through 4.2. Rengering, Slusher, Combs, Parker, Fieger and Stringer helped the Tigers today. As I have said all year long Beechwood will be a tough out in this tournament.

I only saw the last 2 or 3 innings but Ganns looks like a nice prospect as a hitter.

And Booth with a huge bases clearing double!

Fieger did a great job. Slusher with a big hit to score first two runs. Stringer with 3 hits, including the big two out hit to give the Tigers the lead. Tough match up for Combs today vs Ganns. He will be fine. I agree the upper classmen contributed, but the frosh were right there with them. Fieger and Stringer shut down the Rebels, with Kyle going I believe 3 and Ethan the last.

Trey has always been a good line drive hitter. Used to go the other way a lot but now is dangerous pole to pole.

Congratulations to the Tigers! They become even more dangerous as the tournament goes on and their young players get more comfortable.
