  1. This one was painful to watch. Saw a bad team with a little discipline beat a bad team with no discipline. At least Lima showed flashes and was entertaining to watch. BW was just bad. OLine is going to be a real issue. There was no room to run between tackles, and they have a rb who is clearly uncomfortable running in that space, yet kept calling it. When the other team has more yards in penalties than you have in offense, that is alarming. I saw a QB who seemed to be very antsy in pocket. Throws a nice ball, but that is only part of playing QB. When he did deliver a good ball, BW receivers dropped it. Not sure who called fake punt on 4th and about 10 from inside their own 20, but he should be packing his whistle. Not sure who called the fb dive on first down with a minute to go and Lima out of timeouts, but he too should be done. Lima was awful. A team like SK or Conner would have hung 60 on them. If BW plays like that next week Dixie will be playing their JV by the half.
  2. As an FYI, Kylan is also a very highly regarded baseball prospect, PBR rates him as the 8th best prospect in 2014 class and he showed very well at their Top Prospect event. I do not know him, have no clue which sport he prefers, just thought it shows what a special athlete he is.
  3. This thread is beggining to look like the thread on Ryle kid. Again, not bashing the kid, but the adult that is reporting it. There is not way, and I mean no way, this kid is a legit sub 4.4. As many have said that means he is in top echelon of top players in NFL. Its a shame adults post stuff like this. Do your research and understand the stuff you are posting.
  4. If I could decipher this, I think I would disagree.
  5. I think you are missing the boat. Its not the kid folks are cracking on, its people like you that just typed a resume on a kid going to seventh grade, and presumably with a straight face.
  6. Spot on about the swol. I would equate upper knothole to american division in the league. Once you get into the national, you are getting into true select teams picked from tryouts and geographical locations, although with some area elites opting out altogether that division has been watered down too. IMO stay unaffiliated and make your own schedule. Play a couple games vs some of the top tier teams. The occasional beatdown from stepping up in comp can be good in the long run.
  7. Look, Stoops is doing a great job, cant deny that. I said if he wanted, he could really damage the Michigan States and Wisconsins of the B1G, and that is exactly what he is doing. That said, and what JA is saying, is that for years now all we have heard is that the B1G, and midwestern players in general, is inferior to the SEC, slow and not physical enough. That is directed at the top programs, generally OSU, Michigan, and Wisky. OSU and Michigan, per the Media and everywhere else, would be mid level at best SEC teams. Now Stoops is coming in and getting players that to this point dont warrant offers from those two, and he is somehow going to compete in the best conference in America? Simply doesnt add up, cant have it both ways. Recruiting a Mich St roster can lead to success when you play Indiana, Iowa, and Purdue. Not so convinced it can work in the SEC. I hope I'm wrong, I really do.
  8. Yep. Have posted it before, but that team is special. Of the 14 kids on the roster, 2 are sophs. Of the 12 frosh, 8 started on their varsity baseball teams at schools like lebanon, lakota east, hamilton badin, beechwood, and detroit devine holy child. All those teams made at least their respective regional semis. Only non varsity players were the four Moeller kids. Combs and Stringer, who you know, are probably the 4 and 5 starters on that team. The ace was the first frosh in Moe history, allegedly, to begin the season on the JV there. Just played in 4 game round robin, gave up 2, 0, 1, and 2 runs, 3 of those vs very goid 16u teams.
  9. Thanks. Thats a good looking baseball team, some kids on there that are going to be fun to watch over the next couple years.
  10. Think I am confused. Does this mean that Mitch Kuebbing did not make this team? How can that be? What about Suchanek? Listed as Junior All Star, but not on team itself? Is there a link to this? Look at the two freshmen on here. That is really cool.
  11. Thanks TOG. Hopefully those links get updated? Anyhow, I have a couple. Several NKy players on the 17u Flames. Very good schedule. https://www.cincyflames.org/teams/team.php?id=46&year=2013 As I mentioned, the two BW frosh on the 15u Midland team. This team is REALLY good, worth the drive to Amelia. Won the 18u 21 Gun Salute last weekend. MIDLAND TOMAHAWKS Home Page The two studs from Holy Cross on this 18u Flames team, also VERY good. Couple really big time D1 kids here. https://www.cincyflames.org/teams/team.php?id=47&year=2013 I look forward to watching the Roosters play. I have an idea who will be on that roster, should be very good.
  12. After following all these kids all year in high school ball, I'd love to know where they are all playing and a schedule. This was my first year really focusing on NKy baseball, and it was a treat to get familiar with some of the teams and players. That said, I know of the Colonels, but honestly am ignorant to much beyond that. Links to web sites greatly apprrciated. I will be heading to Midland today, great 15/16u round robin between Midland and the Indiana Outlaws. Each organization bringing their teams at those age groups, and all play each other, including same organization match ups. Outlaws are loaded and should present great baseball. Of local interest, Beechwood frosh Combs and Stringer play for the 15u team, as does Ricky West from Ballard.
  13. He's 15. IMO, "pretty good" may be an understatement at this point. Good, really good, high po I will buy. Several really good college coaches agree.
  14. Fieger did a great job. Slusher with a big hit to score first two runs. Stringer with 3 hits, including the big two out hit to give the Tigers the lead. Tough match up for Combs today vs Ganns. He will be fine. I agree the upper classmen contributed, but the frosh were right there with them. Fieger and Stringer shut down the Rebels, with Kyle going I believe 3 and Ethan the last.
  15. Sure he is talking about Kuebbing, who is already signed with Longwood U, which is D1.
  16. Right coach at the right time. Prior coach M, and I am a huge fan, not sure how some of his "requirements" would have landed with some of these young kids. Thats neither a good or bad comment, just my opinion. One particular young man, when I heard he was going to BW, I thought it was a potential disaster. Mullins lets the kids have fun, but knows when and how to reign them in and when to give them some rope.
  17. Nope. Wouldnt put the time in to be excellent at it. Did it for several years, realized I couldnt dedicate enough energy or effort so gave it up, and refuse to take money for something I put little effort in. Its called integrity. If you ump and find that you arr constantly getting yelled at, maybe its time to look in the mirror. Or go ump t ball.
  18. Blah blah. Love the martyr approach. Would they care so much about the kids if there wasnt a pay check at the end? How about they learn the rules and try to get better, wouldnt that improve the game?
  19. I was, of course, somewhat tongue in cheek, but it really is an issue. I do like your fitness idea, that alone would trim the herd.
  20. Incorrect, they are awful over here too. Money too good, and no accountabilty. Blue boys are stealing money, should be ashamed and give it back. Coaches should have a vote after every game to see if umps should be paid full share, half share, or no share. That would certainly weed out those that have no conscious and keep getting paid for incompetence.
  21. Again, I know nothing about the makeup of the teams he was playing against. Big difference in maturity levels at the frosh level, doubt there were many teams that had the make up to stop a 6'2 200 lb kid. The fact that he has a youtube video out of freshman football highlights tells me all I need to know and end this discussion.
  22. Because that is the game I saw, and I watched him get roughed up physically and athletically by a bunch of kids his own age, and some younger. That is the only freshman game I watched all year. What else am I supposed to compare it to? He will play against kids every bit as physical and athletic as him every night at the varsity level, and he has a ways to go before we should deem him already dominant at that level. This was against a 1A school that had a couple 8th graders playing on it. Why should I think he is automatically going to dominate against a platooning D6 school like SK or Campbell County?
  23. Hate to agree with air raid, but he is right. Easy on the dominant. I watched the kid play one game vs Beechwood, who had kids that could match him physically and athletically. He was a complete non factor, and his team sure could have used him. He has the size to be a great one, but has a long way to go to be domnant, on a level when every night there are kids as big and as fast.
