Most annoying thing you saw this season?

Featured Replies

OK...probably shouldn't ask this, because those that know me will probably answer ME.......:lol2:

Mine?

Sorry Cooper, but it was the Saturday Freshman round robin that had teams at Cooper for 4 and 5 hours, but didn't have any concessions AND had only one port-o-let that looked like a smurf exploded in.......

For the youngsters......Smurf is a blue mystical creature.....so imagine blue water all over everything and no other option....except the trees.....

Good baseball though.

The most annoying thing by far this year was the umpire from the Holy Cross/Bwood game (JV). He moved his strike zone like crazy towards the 5 inning and called strike 3's that were in the dirt.

Coach Krumps pulling a relief pitcher out after 1 walk--following a lights out inning. Sorry---dont know who the kid was.

Constant lineup changes made by Cooper.

They haven't had the same lineup 2 games in a row.

Gets hard to figure out if they are a good team or a bad team when the best players don't play but once every other game and then not all of them at the same time.

All the chatter coming from the dugouts. This year seemed to be worse than past. Highlands was by far the worst, but they werent alone. I blame coaches and umpires for allowing it. I posted in another thread that the bench in hoops is not allowed to distract the free throw shooter, no idea why pitchers aren't given same courtesy.

I love it. Well let me put it this way, not a fan of the softballesque chants, but everything else I like. It keeps the players in the game. Yes it may get a little annoying from a fans standpoint, but from a coaches standpoint there is nothing wrong with it and should be encouraged.

This has gotten really bad. It seems like chatter now is all about being obnoxious. And it's not just in the dugout. Runners clapping, fielders slapping their mitts when holding runners. I'm all for talk and chatter..baseball is a slow game and it helps keep everyone involved....but it's really gone in a bad direction.

I've also seen a lot of selfishness in players and parents. I've seen kids mope and toss bats after hitting a sacrifice fly. I've seen parents of pitchers complain when kids make errors behind them. Baseball is a team game...it's not all about individual stats.

I haven't attended a baseball game in a couple of years, but those chants from the dugout during softball games are beyond annoying.

Along those lines, I've seen way too much throwing mitts, bats, and helmets. And that falls right on the coaching. Coaches aren't policing themselves like they used to, they will let things slide if its the "star" player.

It wasn't this year but the Highlands fans from last year's regional tourney were way beyond obnoxious! I salute them for the # of students that came out to support their team but they need to be reminded that this is a baseball game, not a European soccer match!

Man, am I tired of hearing about this one. Absolutlely nothing went on in the Highlands student section at this game that doesn't go an at every Friday night football game in October all over KY. The only thing that made this any different was the sport, and the fact that the HHS students outnumbered NCC about 20 to 1.

Everybody wants more students to come out for baseball games, and every time it happens, we get nonstop whining about what the student section did.

I wasn't referring to the NCC game, I was talking about the Dixie game. They greatly outnumbered Dixie students as well, which again should be commended. Love the fact that so many students came out to support their team but if they cannot control themselves, I would prefer they stay home. Again, this is not football or futbal.

My appologies. Just figured you were talking about the Regional Championhsip game. I was at the Dixie game also, but don't really remember anything going on. My guess is you might be talking about kids between the backstop & the PA booth, but the Dixie & Conner games are muddling together in my head.

How were they out of control?
