NCC finally loses a one run game. Great season for the Breds, and congrats to Dixie for advancing.

Agree sloppy game, but Holy cross had a great year and tonight shouldn't take away from that. I asked HC catcher Herrmann (SP) if she tagged the baserunner after the game and she said she did not. Coach Meeks thought the Conner runner didn't tag home and that is why he came out to ask the plate umpire about. As for the rest of the game, Moran had good hits, as did Herrmann and Kozerski. Defensively HC was a mess. The fly ball to right center should have been caught. Some poor decisions, and well girls softball. to their credit Holy Cross never quit. Conner should be happy to advance where they will take on a Dixie team that somehow found a way to advance to the semifinals beating NCC.

Totally agree. That was silly tonight. Where and when did that come into play?

Combs bests days are ahead of him. Congrats to the Rebels on a great year. Ganns was lights out through 4.2. Rengering, Slusher, Combs, Parker, Fieger and Stringer helped the Tigers today. As I have said all year long Beechwood will be a tough out in this tournament.

Baseball is the greatest! Girls fastpitch softball when played well is fun. As for old men that couldn't hit the little ball, then I guess softball is okay. We already know what the great male softball homerun boppers would do against major league pitchers, and that is why they are playing softball.

Great game by both teams! NCC wins by 1 run again-just weird. I thought both pitchers pitched very well. I have seen Neace for NCC throw a few times, and tonight she had the Bluebirds off balance for whatever reason. She doesn't throw hard, but when the girls behind her make plays NCC plays well. Bailey throws hard for Highlands and her best days are ahead of her. For Highlands tonight, just an off night at the plate. Depending on the draw, they will be tough to beat in the Region. They can certainly play with St. Henry. As to the play JMU, I think the catchers throw for NCC was so far off that really interference couldn't have been an option. I was shocked that the catcher hurried that much because she could have run down to first to double off the Highlands Baserunner, and the NCC catcher is a great player. Oh well it happens. Good luck to both teams next week.

You bring up a valid point. Not sure I would call them leaders either, but they were good players that for whatever reason choose no to play. I can't see how a new coach would punish players under an old regime. The ones that did play should have the advantage of having another full season under their belt.

Should be a decent game. I would give the initial nod to Ryle.
