The Northern Schools complain when it is at Wayne or McCreary because that a long drive for a 6 or 6:30 start if they play the first game. The same would apply if the region was held at Mercer or even Boyle / Danville for the southern schools. PC and Lincoln are the two most centrally located schools and both south and north ends of the region are pacified. Personally I think Pulaski is the perfect venue and it should be there. I wouldn't mind if it were somewhere else if they had a facility as good as PC's but it's aggravating to get crammed into Lincoln's dark gym while a great facility like PC's sits empty.

Seems to me as if Pulaski may deserve a little more credit than they have been getting as far as talk about the top teams in the region. McCreary just played with one of the top two teams in the region a week ago (the same team that PC took to the wire in the region semi's last year and both teams return nearly everyone) but then the Maroons turn around and wear them out. I think the 12th is at least a three team race with PC being one of those top three.

Wayne looks down quite a bit this year but Mccreary appears to have no defense. I think Wayne wins 18-12.

Had my first one ever on Thursday. Pretty dang good, I wish that I had gotten the chocolate though.

The way I understood it was that Pulaski Co had a committee that picked the all tourn team instead of asking the coaches which players from their own team they wanted on it. It often happens like that and coaches most always pick who have been their best players throughout the season and not who may have had a good tournament. I think there should be a regular season all-region team so good players from teams who do not make the region tournament can be recognized.

How long was it before Maysville was absorbed by the new Mason Co HS?

Pulaski's gym will not hold 7,000 as it is now. If they did erect bleachers on the platform maybe it could get up there. Still don't know if it would hold that many. EKU list's capacity of Alumni Col. as 6,500 and I don't think PC is near that.

I don't think anyone will walk through it either unless upsets clear the way. West Jess could possible have an easy time getting to the finals but will have a battle waiting for them unless somehow McCreary or Mercer fall in the semi's. Pulaski only lost to McCreary by two on a last second shot in one of their meetings this year so it isn't impossible for a WJ or Mercer or McCreary to lose to one of the other teams on a night where things just go their way.

I think PC was 30-36 from the line. Casey also went to the line 30 or so times.

I think you should definately throw Mercer in since they have beaten the top two teams and only lost by four to the # three team.

Ballou played in the McCreary Central tournament either last year or the year before and I think they won it. I assume the Thomas kid played whichever year it was if he is that good.

What about this scenario (if this were the rule(? A boy plays the entire season and his team wins the State Championship. His girlfriend was pregnant for the entire season but he and her denied the child was his. After the season was over the child was born and paternity test proved that the child was his. Does that school have to forfeit all their wins due to using an ineligible player? I don't think there is any way the KHSAA could get by with a rule like this. It wouldn't be long before someone filed a discrimination lawsuit.

I know McCreary played well in the Lex Cath tournament but Wayne has also played well (9-1) since losing to the Raiders before the holiday tournaments. Wayne also has their backs against the wall with two district losses already. I'm predicting Wayne by 5 on their home floor.
