Always a great tournament. Fun to see the out-of-state teams.

When do they draw for the car raffle? I bought a few tickets at a CovCath game a few weeks back.

Do we know anything about the out-of-state teams in it this year?

It is halftime of the final game I think. GOOD LUCK!

Irvington and Covington Catholic in the same tournament. I wonder if Theoldguy has any thoughts on the prospect of these two teams mixing it up?? :taz:

What's the story on this Irvington team?

The reference is to the 1968 (maybe '67??) State Championship finals. Cov. Cath. up by 1 point with a few seconds remaining in the game. Desperation shot by Irvington, weird angled rebound leads to lunging miracle tip about .000001 seconds shy of the buzzer that goes in. :madman: (and the game film clearly shows the ref. motioning for a charge that, in the excitement of everyone rushing the Court, never gets acted upon....not that I am bitter or anything.

That would have been Earlington. Irvington is from New Jersey.

Oh....never mind. :ohbrother:

Ballou is from DC and has one of the top 10 DC Metro players in Donte Thomas.

I understand Cov Cath's game got changed and they were moved to a different bracket???? Any idea what happened?

Ballou played in the McCreary Central tournament either last year or the year before and I think they won it. I assume the Thomas kid played whichever year it was if he is that good.

Close but no cigar:D...... Earlington is no longer a High School in Kentucky and I didn't shed a tear.....:thumb:

Sorry about that, I quoted the wrong comment!
