I think the better question would be, "which team has a realistic chance to beat Highlands in the entire state of KY!!" I'm in west KY, but I respect Highlands program very much. It would be nice for the media to get off the X and Trinity wagon, and start getting behind the best team in KY.

I understand that these economic times prevent some media from traveling to look at teams from West KY. But it really wouldn't matter if this game took place during the economic boom of 2000-2001. Most media coverage is in the little triangle of Lex, L'ville, & N. KY, which is fine due to the majority of KY's population residing in those areas. All I'm saying is that don't judge West KY football because it doesn't fit in your paramaters. We respect all football teams across the great state of Kentucky, but we do tend to take our football serious, so give us that without being judgemental on strength or weakness of schedule.....

Ram Fan04, For once I agree with you!!! haha. Seriously what are these people thinking. Highland IMO is THE REAL DEAL not only in KY, but for the majority of the south. They beat Cincy St. x, and still don't get any love. I'm either watching them, Beechwood, or LCA play this weekend, who do you recommend??

Thats going to be a great game!!! I can't wait, the stadium will be packed and I'm sure both teams will perform as expected. It would be nice if some media from the Lexington-Louisville-Northern Ky area would be there. It might open their eyes to West KY football, and have both programs get the respect that they rightly deserve.

That is awesome to hear some great news today!!! I haven't had the chance to see Mr. Andrews on the Football field this year, but I will probably wait to see him at the state championship, because I'm for sure he will be there!!! Great to hear an awesome young person that is a leader on the field and in the classroom. He deserves everything he gets. Especially Mr. Kentucky Football!!!!

LCA Crittenden/ Mayfield Beechwood Frankfort Raceland Hazard Fairview I know I'm biased by some of my pics, but I'm going to take my Rockets by 1 point over Mayfield in our game on Oct. 23rd. I think LCA is the team to beat, but we will see how they look during the playoffs. In addition I don't know much about Football in Northern KY or Eastern KY, but for some reason I think Raceland, Hazard, Fairview, and myabe Bellvue will surprise some people.

Just wondering if you have ever made it to West Ky. to watch any football? And it would be nice to know where you make your choices from??

That is a pretty big statement considering you haven't even seen CC or Mayfield play this year. Just because CC or Mayfield plays a team that doesn't show a good record doesn't mean anything. Take Mayfield and Paducah Tilman, PT might not have that great of a record for you people at the north end of the state, but that game goes back about 100 more yrs than LCA has even known about football. CC against Caldwell co. might not look like an impressive win for the Rockets, but that game is a rival game. It goes back to the 1920's. So if you want to say that LCA is good then go ahead. I personally think that they are the real deal. They have played a tough schedule but their path to the titile will be easier than us playing in the west bracket.

I feel after Friday night that you can take Graves Co. off the list as being undefeated because Mayfield will give them all they want and then some. The only other team that I know anything about that might come off is LCA, they have a great program but I feel Breathitt Co. might be a little too much for them. But that will be a exciting game to see.

Things keep looking better and better each week for both of our teams as we get ready for the face off in the anticipated "Matchup in Marion" What are the fine folks in Mayfield saying about the game in October?

I'm going to step out on a limb and say that two teams will come off of the winless list Friday night. Fulton City will take care of business against Todd Central. Not to knock Todd Central, but their defense just doesn't understand the basic fundamentals, and Fulton City has enough talent to get a TD on the board and roll with it. My second pick is that Muhlenberg Co. gets a win to break their streak. They have the numbers and size to be a decent team, and a win will help their confidence level greatly.

It will be a great game for those in attendance. With both stadiums being only 1 mile apart it is like a home game for both teams, but that is what makes this game so interesting. There has been several threads about 1A vs. 6A, past records, this years games, etc... But you can throw all of that out the window in this barn burner of a game. I feel that both Offenses will score at will, and the deciding factor will be which teams defense decideds to step up and stop the opposing offense. Either way good luck to both teams, and keep healthy. Mayfield: 42 Graves: 28
