Way to go Rockets!! CC had more points than many thought possible and margin of victory is impressive.

Congrats to CC! I give them a lot of credit on the win. Good luck the rest of the season.

Nice win. Things are setting up nice for the Critt-Mayfield game. Ap poll has Mayfield in the 2nd slot and Crittenden in 3rd, looks like Crittenden is finally getting some recognition.

Rockets make it 8 straight vs. McLean

CALHOUN, Ky. - Crittenden County made it eight straight wins over McLean County with painless 34-12 victory at Calhoun Friday night.

The Rockets jumped ahead 21-0 and never looked back as J.D. Gray rushed for 93 and threw for 89, including two touchdowns. He completed 9-of-11 passes – a third of them to tight end Dylan Clark. Running back Andrew Freeman caught two passes, including a 41-yard fourth-quarter touchdown.

Critenden opened the game in a no-huddle offense, working on wearing down the big front line of McLean. The plan was aborted soon as Crittenden was in obvious command of the game.

Things keep looking better and better each week for both of our teams as we get ready for the face off in the anticipated "Matchup in Marion" What are the fine folks in Mayfield saying about the game in October?

If we can get by Graves County this Friday night then we should be undefeated coming into the October 23rd matchup at Marion. While we have learned to play one game at a time...this team is looking forward to getting another shot at the Rockets. IF healthy Mayfield should have the speed advantage and after talking to some of the Crittenden County fans the one area of their defense that really worries them is their pass defense and that is what Mayfield has really done well in the early season. It seems like the Rockets have really found their place offensively with the Berry kid doing a great job at running back and of of course J.D. Gray is playing extremely well and he is the kid that gave us fits last year. After this Friday I wish we could skip the next three weeks and jump ahead to October 23rd as barring any major hiccups we both should be undefeated in the district and probably still #2 and #3 in the Class A polls.

It should be a great game and should set up the location for the possible rematch in the 3rd round of the playoffs if both teams make it that far. Good luck to the Rockets and like Mayfield I hope that both teams come in completely health into the much anticipated matchup in late October.
