Who wins the crosstown battle between 4-0 Mayfield vs. 3-0 Graves County. Should be another good game between these two. I say that Mayfield wins with their speed...if we don't get anyone else hurt and can get rid of the flu bug against the Eagles. Graves will try and keep the ball away from Mayfield's speed using their Wing-T style of offense. Mayfield will need to shore up their defense and not let Graves nickel and dime them up and down the field.

I say Mayfield gets enough big plays and wins 35-14

1A pounds 6A.

Graves is better than expected and could give mayfield a decent fight. If Mayfield is healthy and avoids any lapses in focus they should win by 17+. Mayfield has a great squad this year and is likely to avoid any let downs against their crosstown rival.

The healthy part is what worries me going into Friday nights game against Graves County. At the start of the season tailback was our deepest position with Murrell, Noonan, and Jackson...and now heading into the game against Graves Murrell is still nursing a deep thigh bruise he suffered at Tilghman, and Noonan is probably out for the next couple of weeks with a severe sprained ankle. Jackson is a beast as a freshman...but only having one healthy back worries me a little going into this intense rivalry game.

Good luck to both teams and hope both come out healthy heading into the district portion of their schedules.

Mayfield 34-15.

Mayfield by 20! Just down right tough football team, good to see them back to smash mouth!!!

Mayfield needs to execute well this week and then they can get a bit of breather the following 2 weeks against a pair of Fultons. Those games against the Pilots and Bulldogs should allow the Cardinals to heal some injuries and get the JV squad in for reps. Take care of business against the crosstown rival and use the next 2 weeks to heal.

The only time Graves has seen a well oiled machine on offense was in scrimmage action against Owensboro where they gave up a whopping 50 pts. Considering Mayfield can score quickly and in bunches, I like Mayfield to put up somewhere between 40 and 50 again this week. Graves will run the wing T like Trousdale and will likely have some limited success in the running game as Mayfield still seems a little suspect on D. In the end though, Graves (like the other teams Mayfield has played... with perhaps the exceptiong of P.T.) will probably start to wear down and get tired by the 4th quarter allowing Mayfield to pull away. 42-21 Mayfield.

While there will be little interest in posting threads for the following two weeks, I'll just throw a couple of more scores out. Mayfield 56 Fulton County 15... Mayfield 63 Fulton City 6

Mayfield is a good team, but you are no Owensboro! Owensboro would pound Mayfield by 3 or 4 TDs.

Wow, touchy, he didn't say Mayfield was as good as O'boro, just that Graves has only seen one good offense thus far. I would have liked to have seen Mayfield play O'boro this year, I don't think we could stop their offense but Mayfield can put up some points. Maybe the two teams could hook up in the next couple of years, your coach is a Mayfield alum after all,

You should worry more about Bowling Green this Friday than Mayfield

Let's keep this one on the Mayfield/Graves game discussion.:thumb:

Hopefully Guhy throw the ball a little better...
