I think LCA will win the state championship hands down!

I agree with one thought as a caveat. If there is a team that has a good enough offense to control time of possession and put up big points, they might have a chance. It will take a lot of points to beat LCA because they are going to get their points against anyone in 1A. I will predict now that it will take a 40 point game in the playoffs or title game to beat LCA.

I think Mayfield might have the offensive horsepower to do it. I would equate Mayfield’s passing game to CPAs, but better.

I think your going in the right direction. I would give that score a + beside the 40 points to beat LCA. 40+ Good luck to any team that has to play LCA in the playoffs before the big trip to BOWLING GREEN

While I applaud your enthusiasm...there are about 4 other teams out there that would like a shot at LCA...although those teams are in the west bracket of things with Mayfield, Crittenden County, Beechwood, and Frankfort all giving LCA a good game. I see LCA getting to state easily...but will have a tough game against anyone of the four mentioned above.

Personally I would love to see a Mayfield - LCA matchup in Bowling Green...but then again I am a little biased. Whoever makes it to Bowling Green from the west will have earned it this year

Has Mayfield played anyone this year that is a very good team? Have they played a hard fought game like in a playoff atmosphere? I can only think of one team that they have played with a winning record. And a couple of teams with only one win and a couple with 0 wins. The teams they play are really down this year. So they are putting up big scores. It may hurt them when it comes to the 2nd and 3rd + rounds in the playoffs. I know of the team that won the class A state championship last year from Tennessee. But how is that team doing this year. Are they anything like they were last year? When Mayfield goes up vs a LCA, Beechwood type team will they be able to pass and run like they are used to? I doubt it. Will they be able to play during adversity? Nobody knows because of the teams they have played this year. I know they are good. But how good?:idunno: We will all find out . STAY TUNED. Anyway good luck in the playoffs. And stay healthy.

Trousdale County is 5-1 and averaging 46 points a game. Outside of the Mayfield game, they are 5-0 and have outscored their opposition by an average of 47-19.

Trust us ... Mayfield fans know what a state championship contender looks like. This team matches that description.

I'm almost sure Frankfort played LCA in a scrimmage game before the season started. And Frankfort was a very healthy team. They had their STAR running back and a few others that arn't playing now. LCA killed them something like 50-7. I don't think Frankfort was holding back. And I doubt the coaching staff thought it would be good for the team to lose by that much. So I doubt the Frankfort kids will be all that happy to play them again. JMO And anyone in the east that makes it will go through LCA. I would love to see LCA get knocked off before we have to play them in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Maybe their schedule is like MAYFIELD's this year. One tough team and 8 cupcakes. not bad. I'm sure you and the Mayfield fans know what a championship team looks like. NO DOUBT. Have you talked to the coaching staff about the concerns that I have thought about. I bet they have already talked about them. And I bet they continue to talk about it behind closed doors. If you know them, ask them. They may tell you. I know we talk about things like that every day.

^ I agree, I think LCA would beat both Mayfield and Crit Co. by at least 30+. Neither team is close to as good as Lex Cath. And look at the numbers Hayden and Whit put up against them. Nobody will hold either one of them to under 100 yards the rest of the season.

Trousdale is a traditional power ... I doubt they're playing a bunch of cupcakes.

Frankly, you have some sort of misconception about Tilghman. The Tornado isn't a cupcake. Frankly, Tilghman may have more athletes, speed and talent than Mayfield does.

Has Tilghman underachieved? In my mind and in the minds of others, yes. It doesn't mean they qualify for cupcake status.

Graves County hardly qualifies as one, either.

For all your criticism of Mayfield's schedule, the Massey Ratings still rank it as the third-best in Class A, behind Lexington Christian and Beechwood.

They've been down this road before. Mayfield used to play its tough non-district schedule early in the season, then coast through the district and the early rounds of the playoffs ... they've always wondered how they would be able to bounce back when the competition got tougher.

Big game between Raceland and Fairview...

:thumb: Very big game, besides being a huge and bitter rivalry this one has big district/playoff implications. With LCA being a clear district favorite a home field playoff game/advantage is probaly at stake.
