^ I agree, I think LCA would beat both Mayfield and Crit Co. by at least 30+. Neither team is close to as good as Lex Cath. And look at the numbers Hayden and Whit put up against them. Nobody will hold either one of them to under 100 yards the rest of the season.

 

That is a pretty big statement considering you haven't even seen CC or Mayfield play this year. Just because CC or Mayfield plays a team that doesn't show a good record doesn't mean anything. Take Mayfield and Paducah Tilman, PT might not have that great of a record for you people at the north end of the state, but that game goes back about 100 more yrs than LCA has even known about football. CC against Caldwell co. might not look like an impressive win for the Rockets, but that game is a rival game. It goes back to the 1920's. So if you want to say that LCA is good then go ahead. I personally think that they are the real deal. They have played a tough schedule but their path to the titile will be easier than us playing in the west bracket.

I'm almost sure Frankfort played LCA in a scrimmage game before the season started. And Frankfort was a very healthy team. They had their STAR running back and a few others that arn't playing now. LCA killed them something like 50-7. I don't think Frankfort was holding back. And I doubt the coaching staff thought it would be good for the team to lose by that much. So I doubt the Frankfort kids will be all that happy to play them again. JMO And anyone in the east that makes it will go through LCA. I would love to see LCA get knocked off before we have to play them in the 2nd or 3rd round.

 

Frankfort did not play LCA in a preseason scrimmage...LCA played Green Co and barely beat them 28-21, the same Green Co that got demolished last week by Lone Oak, and , imo, Mayfield is right there with Lone Oak...The CPA team out of Tn that LCA squeaked by is nowhere in the ballpark with Trousdale Co...As of right now Trousdale is 6-1 and ranked #1 in 2a and just got done beating last weeks #1 traditional power Friendship Christian 23-7, a team that was undefeated, averaging 47 a game and giving up under 3 a game, while CPA has a losing record and was manhandled by Ft Campbell and have also lost a couple of instate games to very average teams...

 

Now, I'm in no way shape or form trying to say LCA isn't a great 1a team, but, in no way do I feel they're head and shoulders above Mayfield...Can't speak for Beechwood, Frankfort or Crittenden, other than comparing scores, because I haven't seen them play...I will say that, imo, Mayfield could very easily be considered a heavy favorite over LCA as well as the other way around, but, in reality, I don't think either is much better than the other and would probably make for a hell of a championship game...

If they struggled with CPA, trust me, they'll have more than there hands full with Mayfield...Matter of fact, if there were a 30 pt spread in a game with LCA, my money would be on the black and red...You really need to wonder how LCA would handle the pressure of a title game moreso than Mayfield, who has about 14 more games of experience than LCA does...:laugh:

Actually, Lexington Christian's present team has more big-game experience than this Mayfield bunch, given their advancement in the playoffs the last two years and their good regular-season schedules.

I think Mayfield's schedule is a little better than some are giving them credit for. But I disagree with Massey having their schedule as the 3rd best in 1A. I would put Mayfield's schedule in the top ten but in the bottom part of the top 10. Teams with clearly more difficult schedules so far than Mayfield are LCA, Beechwood, Lou. Holy Cross, Hazard, Bellevue and Pikeville.

Actually, Massey just updated ... Mayfield is now eighth after playing Fulton City last week.

 

Massey list Pikeville sixth, Holy Cross seventh and Hazard ninth ... all in the same ballpark.

THANK YOU; I'm not trying to make anyone mad. I just suggested that Mayfield has a weak schedule. And one game with a team with good record doesn't make a tough schedule. They always go back to that one game at the first of the season. And nothing after that. They talk about Paud. Till. but they are way down this year. Not Mayfield's fault. And they talk about tradition. We arn't playing in the past. And I'm not an LCA fan trust me.

Bellevue has played a top ten caliber 2A team in Cov. Holy Cross and an undefeated top ten caliber 4A team in Holmes. They also have wins over a 2A team and 5A team. They have played no winless teams, although Walton Verona has only one win and is in their second season of varsity football.

Lone Oak and Mayfield have two common opponents. Both hammered Marshall County. Mayfield beat Graves County 28-13, while Lone Oak beat the Eagles 17-7.

 

I would take Lone Oak to beat Mayfield, but it wouldn't be a rout.

YOU better check your facts again. You better find out LCA's playoff record before posting:idunno: We are talking about the players of the teams today arn't we. Not the past 100 years. The years before 2006 don't mean anything. Those players are long gone or setting in the stands. Talk about now. The kids that play today.
