Boyle is improving with every game. Defense has been very good all year and offense has shown steady improvement since the Danville game. Play calling has been better suited for a Young QB to handle. I think the no huddle offense initiated by the OC since the start of the year seems to be working. It saves the QB from having to run to the sidelines after every play. With Lanter playing well and Hotchkiss looking good in his short stint last game after coming back from his injury, Boyle now has two quality QB's. I look for Boyle to win big this week.

I think The Rebels feel like they have some special motivation for this game after the way the last game between these two ended. The two controversial calls that allowed NH to score the winning TD left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, especially that pass interference call. Look for Boyle to win by 3 TD's.

After a slow start in the first five minutes, Boyle just dominated the game. Collins' little QB is heck of a player. Too much Boyle defense and the offense is getting better each week. Crawford deserves special recognition. Reese Smith is so good on both sides of the ball that we just expect that every game. Clete Helyer sure made his catches count. Good to see us use the tight end more. That offensive line played well and opened up some big holes. Paycheck, Kelly and the rest of the defense that I should be naming have shut down some of the most athletic QB's and their high powered offenses in these first 5 games. I know we lost to a very good Danville team, but that was not the fault of the defense.

I am a fan of both teams and their coaches when not playing Boyle. Lincoln though seems to find a way to lose close games and Mercer much more successful at coming out on top. I have to go with Mercer in this one.

Collins has good dual threat QB. The Boyle defense that has played great so far has faced similar type QB's in their 4 games. Offense played better but must continue to step up to reach their potential. I like Boyle in a close game.

Big win against a good veteran Wayne team ranked 2nd in 4A. Defense was great against the run and played pretty good pass defense against a good QB. Offense was more in sync with plays that complemented their young QB. A complete team win.

Boyle coming off a tough loss will be a hard team to beat.

The previous OC ran exactly the same offense as Pardue. He was even worse in his play selection. He was though a very good offensive line coach.

GCHS, I am guessing that you are either a coach or fan whose team would face Boyle and their OC. Most opposing coaches want him to be there from now on, because they feel they may have a chance with him calling the plays. There are many people with great football minds that either are or would make terrible coaches. Because Coach Pardue has been let go or encouraged to leave at his last three jobs, it appears he is trying to prove that his offensive shortcomings were the fault of the players rather than his poor decision making. Sticking with the pro set that they run in the NFL when you don't have that talent is absurd. This is high school football. The two winningest football coaches in the state coach to their talent, not what might be popular on TV. Neither run anything close to a pro set. I respect your opinion GCHS, but those of us that have had to endure this game in and game out makes it very hard to sit back without comments. To repeat myslf, the kids on the field deserve better.

I think it was obvious with Chuck Smith's comments in the paper that he was very upset with the offense. Again the play calling was terrible. When you have a veteran offensive line, including a division one prospect, other 3 year starters and don't go for the run on the 1 yd line then something needs to change. Late in the game the same thing happens to keep that critical drive alive. The offensive coordinator continues to run out of that one back pro set regardless of the down and distance on the field. He keeps putting pressure on his young QB to make throws that are not only difficult but unwise to begin with. He seems to keep trying to prove that he is some type of offensive guru with his off the wall play calling as well as overall offensive scheme. The players deserve better than this, the other coaches deserve better, the parents and fans deserve better. At what point is Chuck going to say enough is enough. You can only carry loyalty to an inept OC so far. When he had Jeff Duggins and Brandon Smith at QB, they could cover most of his mistakes along with all the other talent on the field. That is not the case now. We have not beat a real good team since he has been back as OC and I don't see it happening.

I would say Knox Central was the weakest opponent of either schools wins. They were not good last year and appear to be headed in the same direction this year. I think this will be a very good game based on the talent returning for both schools. Hope the weather is good so we can see both teams at their best.

Nice win, but as J Lambert said a lot of work this week. Better decision making, like don't kick off to the number 1 recruit in the state after working so hard to score. After running the ball to the red zone for a 1st down, then throwing two fade passes to the corner of the end zone on the first and second downs then running the ball on third down, then another fade to the end zone. Play calling still remains a mystery at times. Talent can only bail you out so many times. Reese Smith was fantastic. We had many other players that came up big.

Agreeing with West Danville, you can also add Biggs to the list of quality backs that the rebels have. One important key is to get the ball in the hands of Reese Smith more. He is a tremendous offensive threat with great speed and the ability to elude tacklers. I think our passing game will be sound and more consistent than last year. Knowing how to utilize all of this offensive talent and to have more of these weapons on the field at one time will be the key in my opinion.

I think the article said that Lanter has been named the Number 1 QB and Hotchkiss is the backup or Number 2. I think the move is permanent.

Ed Rall did a great job at Boyle. This was in the day when you only had two or three assistant coaches and they coached the freshmen and JV teams as well. Ed was also a very good baseball coach. A great coach and a great all around guy as well.

I think consistency in the QB position will be the determining factor. I agree that Hotchkiss is the better runner and is a winner. He will be on the field somewhere on both offense and defense. Boyle has a stable of outstanding runners, with Bartleston, Reese Smith, Crawford plus one other soph to be, so a running QB may not be in the main focus. We need to get the ball in the hands of Reese more often and the other receivers like Colwick. Sorry that I am leaving out names, but I don't have a program in front of me. The offensive coordinator must be able to utilize all of this talent that we are blessed with. I don't think that happened last year with the excuse that we were so young. That can't happen this year. Sorry to leave out the defense, but I am sure we will talk about those guys as well as the offensive line.

Difficult match up for Boyle because of Sylvester. Rebels must take care of the ball to have a chance to win. Boyle plays hard and won't give up. Pulaski plays hard with the big size advantage inside. How the officials call the game will set the tone defensively for both teams. These crews weren't consistent in the two games I watched. This is tournament time in Ky. Anything can happen.

Didn't see the game. A good win. How can you have 23 turnovers with 3 guards in the lineup? You won't be able to overcome that number in many games.

I thought the officiating was very good. In a tough fast paced game like this one the officials were not the reason one team won and the other lost. Bryan Station did adjust in the 2nd half, they quit fouling. I feel that Boyle had a chance to beat a very talented team and will not face any more team speed all year than BS has. You had to be proud on how hard this young Boyle team played even when some of their shots weren't falling for them. This was a great game to watch even when our Rebels went down in a great effort.

Boyle had the same problem with Central that they had with every good team they played this year. That was, the pro set style offense was too easily defended. If you don't have a very good QB, it is too easy to set your defense against that one good running back. Your OC must be flexible and be able to design your offense to match your talent. That did not happen this year. Hopefully something will change before next season. We have great talent coming the next four years and it would be a shame if your OC is outcoached in your big games and these kids can't achieve the results they are capable of. This is where the head coach makes the tough decisions. Loyalty to your assistants is one thing, but when it is to the detriment of your kids and program that is something else.

I think Chuck Smith said it best when he stated that we must have a running game going into the playoffs. I don't understand why you would line up in a one back pro set formation and have two of your proven playmakers standing on the sidelines. Crawford, Ashburn and Barleston give the Rebels great strength at that position and have at least two of them on the field at all times. This could even improve our somewhat anemic passing game that we have shown against the better teams on the schedule. As was stated in the paper good defense and a steady running game may not make the highlight reels, but will definitely win football games.

I think that if Boyle will begin to utilize their 3 running backs more that you will see a big improvement against the better teams. The pro set with one running back is only as good as your QB. You have to adjust to your talent and what you can do best. Being flexible in your offensive scheme is also being smart. You can still throw out of the two back set and at times with even better results.

Boyle beat a pretty good Garrard team, basically shutting them down the last two and a half quarters. Garrard's all time leading rusher was pretty much a non factor. He got more yards against the JVs in that last drive than he had earlier. That was not a fake punt, but bad snap that Garrard was able to turn into a long run. The Rebels are getting better with each game. They have many offensive weapons that make them very hard to defend. This was a real coming out performance for Landen Bartleson another very talented freshman. Next week should be a real measuring stick to see how far we have advanced by going to Lex Cath.

A great friend that was probably the best high school basketball coach I have ever witnessed in Ky. I felt he got more out of his talent and got them to play their role within his system. His teams were so entertaining to watch because they could play at any level being so well coached. Sad to see him go. Helped to provide so many great memories ,not only for Clay County fans, but basketball fans who were lucky enough to see his teams play.
