Cooper had arguably the toughest first round game in the state as South Oldham was 1 point away from being the #1 seed in their district before their upset loss to Collins. While many thought Cooper should have been more dominant in the victory, their starters hadn’t played in the 4th quarter in a month and while they did not play anything close to a “clean” game, they did enough to win, which is what playoff football is all about. Thought it was interesting that Cooper’s offense only ran a total of 37 plays and still managed to score 49 of the 56 total points. The path gets no easier and they prepare for a tough Scott Co. team who finished #2 in their district.

O’Hara was 12/18 for 316 yards with 4 Td’s.

I get the sentiment from the Bardstown - Danville game and it was certainly unfortunate, but reading this one post and not the entire thread, I'm going to play devils advocate and put some of onus on Bardstown (again just reading the post). Why, when what appears to be up 42-7 of a running clock game is Bardstown running a play at the end of a meaningless game vs. an 0-9 team? Not defending Danville coaches actions, but how about just taking a knee and be done? Again, wasn't there, didn't read the entire thread and don't know the particulars, but it looks like the end of game antics could have been avoided to some degree. Regardless, hopefully everyone stays healthy in all games throughout the playoffs.

Right, that game went down to the final drives for both teams. Every game between these two districts is good and I am sure no one is taking anyone for granted.

Credit to the new coach. Not only is he the new coach, but he’s also a first time Head Coach which makes this even more impressive. It’s hard getting the players to buy in let alone the community when you’re “new guy” and he seems to have gotten both since the start up to now. Good luck to WV, looks like you have the correct man leading your program.

Great game by both teams. Cooper left at least 14 points on the board but credit to HHS for capitalizing on those. On to the next one for both of these teams, especially the Jags who have a short week playing next Thursday.

Thanks for beating me to the point here. This is bigger than football. I’m sure both teams are more than ready to play but safety is the bigger issue here.

You're helping to make my point. Your son has played on it "many" times and I am sure he knows the ins and outs of the surface so he knows exactly what you are explaining. In contrast, if you're a team coming in and playing on the CAL for the first time with the expectation that everything will be status-quo on that field you're in for a rude awakening. That surface is not typical and it's best to prepare which is why Ryle should bring turf or tennis shoes.

I will echo @CoachMulvi comments regarding the playing surface at CAL. You cannot underestimate the clear advantage the CAL players will have if Ryle does not come prepared with their footwear. I’m being 100% factual in that it is better to leave the cleats in the locker room and put turf shoes or even tennis shoes on, especially the at the skill positions! When most the CAL players are in turf or tennis shoes, that ought to be a clear sign that something is up. Show up in cleats and Ryle will be at a distinct disadvantage.

Andy just picked up a 3-star rating from 24/7 sports. He currently holds offers from Morehead St., EKU, UIC, Boston U., Youngstown St. and N. Florida. Andy had a heck of summer AAU season and the exposure from 24/7 should help with additional looks from even bigger schools. He’s the best player in NKY and Top 10 in the state in my opinion. Wishing he and the Jags a great ‘24-‘25.
