Final per the update thread.  Great job on the NFHS Broadcast, Boone County.  Congrats Walton.

Walton wins their 4th straight to get to 5 and 5 on the year. It is the first time Walton has ever beaten Boone.

They've played well down the stretch. I'm interested to see how they do at Breathitt County next week. They'll be an underdog but I feel like it could be a winnable game.

I don't think Walton Verona is good enough yet to beat Breathitt County, but these last few games give WV fans they could get the upset on the road.

Some info on the game. Boone was up 7 to 0 after the first quarter. Walton was then up 12 to 7 at halftime. Walton had a 17 point lead early in the 4th, when Boone scored two quick touchdowns to make it a 3 point game with 5 minutes left. Walton was able to run the ball and picked a few first downs to take off the remaining time, before taking a knee to end the game.

If you were rooting for Walton, I was, it was on the edge after Boone scored that second quick TD but like you said the WV offense stepped up and picked up a few first downs and that was it.

No doubt Boone had all the momentum after cutting it to 3 points. Kudos to the Walton line and running back for digging in and getting a few first downs to ice the game.

Even though they lost, I think Dan Court did a really good job with Boone County in his first year.  They lose a few key seniors, but his team plays hard and looks like he did a good job getting some more numbers out this year. Which should help for the future.

Great game by the Bearcats! I’m very impressed with how this team has changed from week 1 to now. A lot to be excited about in Walton Verona!

Credit to the new coach. Not only is he the new coach, but he’s also a first time Head Coach which makes this even more impressive. It’s hard getting the players to buy in let alone the community when you’re “new guy” and he seems to have gotten both since the start up to now.

Good luck to WV, looks like you have the correct man leading your program.
