That thread title makes us think of days gone by. How different this game looks from what it would have been just a few years ago. But things are different at Danville. The last five years have been a struggle for a historically successful program - this year included. The Admirals repeat last year's round 1 road trip to face the Beechwood Tigers, game time 7:30 pm.

Danville enters the game 0-10, losers of 23 straight. Their last win was November 4, 2022 over Monroe County in round 1 of the playoffs. Coach Parks has not won a game in his two years at Danville. Danville has only scored 33 points on the season. The top player I see from stats is sophomore WR Trinden Sellers. Sellers has caught almost half of Danville's completed passes and is tied with Beechwood's WR James Cusick for #7 in 2A in receptions. Pretty impressive for that young man.

Beechwood comes into the game at 9-1. The offense is #2 in 2A in scoring behind seniors QB Clay Hayden, WR James Cusick, WR Luke Erdman and RB Chase Flaherty. The Tigers will look to sharpen their game in this one and stay on track for a march to a state tile opportunity. 

The biggest question in this game, will we see the return from injury of Beechwood's stud sophomore WR Tyler Fryman?

Poor Danville and this round of the playoffs is unnecessary. 

Beechwood needs to protect its players from injury and ejection. Danville is playing for nothing, there is absolutely zero sideline control, in fact they may even egg it on. You cannot even run a useful tune-up game without malicious head-hunting. Get a few scores and then get your top players out of the vanguard.

Are you making these comments specifically about Danville or about any team facing almost certain loss in a game?

With the way the Bardstown game went in terms of penalties and then the extracurricular activities, I'd be in favor of this.  It was ridiculous to see what unfolded last night.

Danville, VOR. I had a son on the field. A daughter who did the film that I re-watched today. And I was in the booth with the refs walkie-talkie. They will attempt to injure your top players, and their team is so bad that there is zero tune-up value to even running your base offense/defense. Unless you all have a miracle drug that controls teenage emotion, it is a recipe for ejection keeping players from playing the second round.

My stock answer.....a whole bunch to not many. Officiated Danville state championship wins in 92 and 94 and a State Semifinal win in late 90s. It's amazing how much the football has changed there. If I recall they have had a few good years in the past 10??

I admittedly have no knowledge on the situation but remember "the Danville of old". 

What happened for such a drastic drop off in 2018? I'm sure Boyle has had an impact but I wouldn't expect it to be that drastic, that quickly.

School Administration.  They canned their state Champion Coach just "because."  They brought in two others that have failed miserably and they've been obstinate about rehiring the man whose a proven winner.  Now he's coaching Somerset and Danville is as bad or worse than the late 80's Boyle County teams were.
