  1. Have your opinion even if it is wrong. Like I said hilarious 😂
  2. Cooper could have seriously folded when Pouncy went down but instead they did what Coach Sully demands of all his teams, never quit and keep fighting! Just a gutsy performance by a team that has had some the worst luck any team could endure in one season. Truly survive and advance. Hats off to Highlands on a good season and #1 is straight baller!
  3. 100% agree. I blew this up and played it 10 times (real time and slow mo) and there was not a goaltend. Looks like Lloyd just made more plays to pull it out.
  4. Exactly! If fans from the 9th were at the 2011 Dixie-NCC 4OT thriller or the huge comeback by the Cooper Jags vs CCH in 2017 they would understand that NO HS in NKY has the capacity to hold all the fan interest other than NKU. I personally don’t have a problem with playing games at NKU because it allows for greater excitement and more fans to see the games live. I’ve been at regionals when it was held at Holmes, which has the biggest gym in NKY if I’m not mistaken, having to arrive AT LEAST an hour early if you want to get in let alone get a halfway decent seat or a place to park..
  5. Should be an excellent tournament and ANY of these teams could win it. Go Jags!
  6. One of the greatest games of the year for both teams no doubt. Game went back and forth with Conner shooting lights out as usual and Cooper having a dominant advantage inside with Pouncy having a huge game scoring and on the boards and taking the MVP. Cooper got some balance scoring late and hit some huge FTs down the stretch after missing several in the first half. Congrats to both teams and the 33rd will be well represented and will be tough outs next week. I said it all year in that there may be a favorite but the field will be strong in the 9th.
  7. Great points made by all. There are several factors that go into recruiting as I've been through it with 4 sons and learned something new with each one but what I tell all student-athletes is "go where you're wanted". It's ok to have a couple of "dream schools" but don't stick your nose up at those schools at a lower level if they are willing to pay for your education AND you get to play the sport you love. One thing that can be true a the vast amount of time but is also a myth at times is the notion that "if you can play, they'll find you". This is not always the case as I have seen players who were victims of this when they were clearly ballers that could play but possibly because of the location of their school or where they played just simply got overlooked. All in all you've got to be able to play and have the measurables schools, especially big schools, are looking for but there are some diamonds in the rough that get overlooked. Great info by all.
  8. Congrats to Coach Holthaus and the lady Jags. This was a good game with both teams make significant runs but Cooper proved to be more balanced. I will say I that the refs REALLY let both teams be as physical as they wanted letting them play but even I thought it was too rough at times.
  9. Couldn't agree more. 9th Region basketball was always better when the Bulldogs were competing for the title. Very unfortunate.
  10. That is the $100,000 question. I know a lot have talent has taken off to other schools but it is sad to see such a rich tradition program fall to the depths to which it has.
  11. I would have to disagree. While the talent level has certainly dropped off over the last 6 years or so, those kids played as hard as they could this season and competed to the best of their ability and definitely didn't want to just pack it in.
  12. Cooper’s new addition in Pouncy proves to be worth the wait. Team played much better having an inside presence with Pouncy logging 22 points and 10 plus rebounds. Should be a good game Friday vs. Conner.
  13. EXACTLY!! There may be favorites but NOTHING is guaranteed in the 9th! It’s why the game is played.
  14. The Jags put together probably their best game in a month and plays 4 qtrs of traditional Cooper basketball that Coach Sully has been looking for. Next week’s district tournament should be real interesting.
  15. Congrats to the young Jags who followed up last year's Freshman Tourney win with a JV title. I will agree with @Runcible Owl in that the Pouncy's will be big contributors in the future and the 8th grade Pouncy that is on his way to Cooper as well could be the best of the bunch for the next 4 years.
  16. No spin and Newport won and well deserved. If you’ve been familiar with the way this team has played of late you’d understand my point which is they played more like a Sullivan coached team than not which is a positive.
  17. If you call holding the ball and not playing then yeah, I guess you can call that patience. My point is regardless of the flow of the game, Cooper only giving up 44 points is more common of a Coach Sullivan team.
  18. Much better defense by the Jags judging by the score. Hoping this team figures it out at the right time and pulls off an upset or two come tourney time.
  19. Congrats to Coach Browning and his team. Been a tough season for Coach Browning but he keeps his team swinging.
  20. I think you just agreed with what has been said. CCH is still the favorite, no one doubts that. However, you just rattled off several teams that on any given night, similar to some CCH’s very close games of late that “could have” easily went the other way, they, as well as any team, can slip up, have an off night shooting or heaven forbid someone gets injured like some teams have experienced this season and anything can happen. You're correct, until someone knocks them off, they are favorite.
  21. Couldn't agree more. There are multiple teams that could win the 9th and nothing is certain for ANY team IMO.
  22. Definitely Coach Snapp would get my vote. There are games to be played still for sure but what Coach Snapp has done with this done his very young group should certainly be commended.
