Why don't a few more of you jump on Walter's case? Be happy he gives you any info at all. This would be a boring site without his basketball insight. Is it wrong that he shows a little passion for his favorite team?

This game should be no contest. Conner girls have no size and don't shoot it very well. They hustle but that's about as far as it goes. Holmes quickness and size should totally take away anything that Conner could do offensively. If Holmes presses and full court traps it could get ugly early.

What's that supposed to mean, others aren't supposed to give their opinions? This is exactly how meaningless games this time of year play out. Kids are uninspired and looking toward the start of the tournaments. No one is dissing either team here just stating an opinion.

Not so surprising imo. Typical Friday night home game for Holmes where they probably had a small uninterested crowd and Holmes figured they could win just by outscoring their opponent. They probably just went through the motions on defense. Looks like Highlands had no answer for Bolden so he just jacked it up.

Boone Co. is a hard team to figure out. I saw them easily handle Cooper earlier in the year 79-59 and turn around and lose to them 61-51 later on. They beat Scott the 2nd time around 70-25 after losing to them earlier 80-65. NCC and CCH both handle them easily 75-43 and 63-49 and they lose to Beechwood 55-52. I think this team with the inside out of Stockwell and Stanley could be very dangerous to a few teams come tournament time but not just sure which team will show up.

Glad I didn't invest $5 and a couple hours of my day to watch that game.

When tiny Edmonson Co. defeated Christian Co. in 1976 they were credited with saving the Sweet 16 as we know it. There was so much talk about dividing the state into classes back then.

With them playing the championship game on Sunday this is not such a big deal anymore but I used to hate to see my favorite region draw the last game of the Thursday night session. That meant to win it you had to play 4 games in a little over 48 hours. That was always a tough road for any team. Had that been the case last year I highly doubt that CovCath would have been able to defeat Scott Co. to win it all.

When Holmes shoots like that they are dangerous. Unfortunately lately they haven't done that very often. I guess you still can't take them lightly and they are probably still the 3rd best team in the 9th region.

When I started in the 7th grade at Holmes in 1962 the girls played something similar to this. I thought it was 7 on 7 and 2 girls stayed back on defense but it could have been 6 on 6. Just can't remember the details. Seemed like they called it GAA but I may be imagining that.

Absolutely unbelievable that a proud program has fallen so far. It's a shame.

Wonder how the pairings are done, blind draw? Doesn't seem fair that an undefeated Conner team would have to play a 9:30 am game and if they win come back and play a team at 12:30 pm who they have previously beaten but drew a bye in this tournament?? Seems there should be a better more fair way to draw the pairings up. I'm sure there are other snags in this scenario if this is the case.

Does anyone have the brackets for the girls JV tournament? Do they do the tournament the same way they do the boys and make it a Northern Ky tournament which includes some 8th and 10th region teams? Have they been counting regular season games toward the tournament bracket?
