  1. How many innings do you think they will allow Stephenson and Garrett? Stepenson combined at AAA and Cincy in 2016 has thrown 121.2 and Garrett 113.0 combined AA and AAA. Stephenson only threw 134.0 in 2015 and Garrett 140.0. Reed threw 145.2 in 2015.
  2. With the Monday off day he had too many better options than Ohlendorf and Wood imo but hey what will that get me. The Reds have had so much trouble beating the Cards why not go all out to win the 1st game of the series?
  3. Conner scrimmaged Bourbon Co. last night and beat them 6-1.
  4. With a 1 run lead in the 8th why does Pryce not bring in his best reliever Iglesias? :arghh:
  5. Hopefully it's the Mets as I don't feel the Giants have as many good prospects in the pipeline but what do the Mets really have? They're not giving up Rosario their top ranked SS.
  6. The Reds are going to just give Bruce away for 2nd tier prospects according to one report. That figures but why not just hold onto him and trade him over the winter?
  7. Yeah we need to trade that huge contract of Cozarts and his terrible season of .267 15 HRs and 41RBIs and poor defense for a bag of peanuts and a dozen baseballs. Maybe then we can slide Suarez and his .237 average and 16 errors over to ss. :idunno:
  8. It would be hard for me and I would think hard for them to trade Disco who they control through 2020. Unless somebody would blow them away with an offer.
  9. If Winker is the plan for LF then they need to try to unload Duvall while he has some value, (if he has some). Do you agree?
  10. Personally I'd like to see them try to move some of the pitchers that they obtained last year for position players but none have really shown enough progress except Disco who I think can be a #2 at least. Where are they going to fit all these guys into the roster when Stephenson and Garrett are ready to be promoted?
  11. I totally get the money aspect of holding on to Bruce given the Votto/Bailey/Phillips contracts. Do you take a chance and hold on to Bruce another year and hope that Bailey has a good finish this year and becomes tradeable over the winter? Phillips will not be resigned long term and no way they give him anywhere near his current salary to stay. Do you think the Reds are sold on Schebler/Winker as a replacement for Bruce? Schebler and Winker have similar numbers at Louisville but Winker doesn't give you the power numbers yet and maybe won't. Can you win in 3 years with Winker and Senzel at 2 key power positions? I think they will fast track Senzel and I don't know about his ability to hit a lot of HRs in GABP.
  12. So who gives you his production from an OF position in 3 years when you plan to compete and what kind of money are you talking?
  13. It's a little late for that isn't it. The season starts in a couple of weeks.
  14. I would guess his agent would balk at anything less than probably 7 years.
  15. I think the jury is still out on the Frazier trade as Schebler has looked good at AAA. Peraza looks like he could be a leadoff type hitter and can play outfield if Hamilton doesn't improve or infield to replace Cozart or Phillips but I do agree that they should try to get the best players in return for Bruce.
  16. With a trade of Jay Bruce looming closer this week could the Reds be making a mistake trading the left handed right fielder away? I have always been very critical of his inconsistency at the plate and his inability to make adjustments in the count. He is 29 years old and just maybe he is finally getting it at the plate showing better discipline and more consistency. He is arguably having his best season and projects to finish with 42 HRs and 133 RBIs. He has struck out less than Joey Votto and has definitely looked like he has cut his swing down some. Could the Reds try to sign him to a new 5 year contract for $90-100m which would make him 34 at the end of the contract? He seems to like it in Cincinnati and has settled into his life with a new child and wife. He was extremely happy that he wasn't traded to NY last year. Maybe the Reds have tried to talk contract with Jay but then again maybe not. Brandon Phillips comes off the books after next year which will help the payroll and they do get the new Fox contract next year. Personally I would like to see them keep him as I don't want to have to break in a new right fielder in front of my season seats but I also don't want to see the Reds tie up their payroll to where they can't spend money in a needed area. What are your thoughts?
  17. They tried just couldn't get a trading partner. For awhile last year it looked like Arizona but that didn't materialize. I think the Reds wanted AJ Pollock who would have been cheap and under control through 2019.
  18. There are those that would argue that. Some say he isn't the best player on his team.
  19. Suspended 5 days as well. White Sox suspend Chris Sale for five days after clubhouse incident
  20. What if he makes the putt to finish with a 62 and -9, does that make it better than a 63 on a par 72 layout which is also -9? I was thinking about that when it happened. In my eyes -9 is -9 on the card whether it's a 61 on a par 70, 62 on a par 71 or a 63 on a par 72. It's still -9 on the card.
