Claiming ignorance here...but why are so many games being played at neutral sites nowadays? (Particularly when they're being played at neutral sites where they have to pay for use of the facility.)

I'm not sure Covcath's gym can hold the crowd that comes with a Holmes/Covcath or Newcath/Covcath match up...same with Newcath's gym. I have no problem with the games being played at BOKC.

 

I do agree the atmosphere would be better in a packed HS gym, but ask the players and I'm sure they would rather have it this way.

 

I thought the Newcath/Covcath game Friday night was just as good of an atmosphere, if not better.

If the schools weren't making more money to hold it there, it wouldn't be played there. They get a nice deal out of playing at BOKC while gaining experience for the region tourney.

Well those previous post are not predictions, nor is this.

These games are usually really close, no matter who the players are. I believe it will be close again. There will no intensity issues in this one. They will go at it. With that being said, I believe CCH is the better team by 5-7 points on both of their best nights. No secrets, they know each other very well. Should be a really good one.

In this case , the NCC game last year has the CovCath people nervous about the floor.

I for one would loved to seen this game at CovCath where you get that high school feel.

The question I have is how many more people are going to show playing $11 than would have shown up for the game at CovCath.If the floor is the issue play the freshman and JV games on Saturday, have presale tickets and do not open the doors till 6:30.

So they actually bring in more money renting the BOKC and then splitting profits after they pay for the facility than they do just hosting at one or the other school's gym?

Mullins v Flood

Covington/Arnold v Romes

Avery v Schuh

The only way this works is if the schools split the gate and BOKC is keeping the parking and concessions.

Any team with an offensive threat that is big will cause the Bulldogs problems, if you take care of the ball against them. NCC should understand that when they play. They also have the formula for just thrashing the 'dogs.

I could be wrong...but I think the way it works is the home team gets a certain payout from BOKC up front and then BOKC keeps concessions/Parking and any additional revenue generated above that payout.

Nothing different than in the past. They both know what to expect and I believe will be prepared. That's what makes their games outstanding almost every time.
