Holmes beats Conner due to talent. Conner has some nice players but they are mostly guards (seems like Conner is loaded with 2 guards). Michael Scott is a nice player but has to score 20+ points a night, run the offense, play defense on the best opposing player and not come out of the game. The freshman class for Conner has some more athletic players coming up, the next couple of years are looking better for the Cougars but I still don't see them challenging Cov Cath, Holmes, NCC, or Cooper for the chance to go down state.

Another interesting matchup for Holmes in my opinion. Conner with plenty of experience at guard to minimize the turnovers and Conner plays good defense and there has been a "blueprint" as of late on how to slow down the Bulldogs a little if you can get them in a half court game. However, I think the Dawgs may be dominate on the offensive boards in this one. Many think the dawgs are all about pressure (which is true most of the time), but you MUST keep them off the boards if you expect to win. And that's not easy to do. So fast to the ball when it's up in the air and plenty of muscle down low with Gulley.

This game should be no contest. Conner girls have no size and don't shoot it very well. They hustle but that's about as far as it goes. Holmes quickness and size should totally take away anything that Conner could do offensively. If Holmes presses and full court traps it could get ugly early.
