  1. First things first we take no district game lightly ! We feel that we play in one of the hardest districts in the state and no matter what their record is they are all good, well coached teams ! Second it seems that our schedule is consistently brought up! let me say first that I myself am a Covington kid and a Holmes guy, and a big fan of Stephen Lickert. But no one brings up their schedule which their opponents have a combined record (their first four games) of 4 wins and 14 loses and two of these schools are of lower classes. Nobody ever says that they caked their schedule and they shouldn't. Holmes is a very good football program. I wish them all the success in the world and for the record I dont think that they caked there schedule. NCC has two teams that they have played who havent one a game yet ,but does this mean that NCC is not legit? No. Eddie is doing a great job they are imo one of the best teams in Kentucky. We play who will play us there are certain teams that refuse to play catholic schools (and yes even brossart) . We had three open games on our schedule and we tried to fill them with N.Kentucky teams but only one obliged that was Holy Cross. Our kids play hard and never give up. We feel that we are in every game we play and on top of that these are great kids off the field. To say that they are not deserving is wrong!
  2. MACLA, I don't know if you have seen the upcoming schedule for the Mustangs in 2010, but I would agree with aptr about the schedule being more difficult. Playing Cov. Holy Cross and Eminence this year is a step up in competition if you judge based on their records from last season. Those teams had better records than Bracken Co and Jenkins, whom were on last year's schedule for the Mustangs. Both teams were playoff teams that won games in last year's playoffs. That does give some indication to the competition being more difficult. I hope this helps clear up confusion
  3. Bellevue is a very good team and very well coached. IMO, Bellevue is the one of the top 3 or 4 teams in Class A in the state. Unfortunately, they are going to have to play one of the top 2 teams in Class A. Beechwood wins by 3TD's.
  4. Hey Papa, I don't recall several TD's being called back in the BB/Frankfort game. I recall both teams having several turnovers, so that can't be an excuse about the game being that close. How about thinking that BB isn't that bad and maybe they played a really good game against a good team.
  5. Brossart had their miscues as well. Brossart fumbled deep in the red zone in the first half and had 4 interceptions as well. 5 turnovers in a game will not get the job done. Brossart had its chances in the first half to score a few times, but came up empty. You cant give a good team like Frankfort second chances when you are the underdog on the road. Hard fought and competitive game by both teams
  6. Congrats to Ludlow on a great season. There is no reason to hang their heads. They played above their abilities all year. Also congrats to Eminence and coach Fromeyer, one of Northern Kentucky's own!:ylsuper:
  7. Im just wondering how many years BBsports has had playing football and coaching? He seems to know alot about the game and I wonder why he isn't coaching? If the coaches are so bad, they could use your help. I do think that this year has been good for the program, since they had never one a game in program history. IMO the coaches can't be that bad.
  8. The steak will continue. Pendleton is the better coached team and has the better team over all.
  9. Matt Reinhart is the head coach his assistants are Ashly Moser, Craig Collinsworth, Tom Roell, Shawn Ford, Dan Ryan, Mark Tobler, Rick Woeste, Tony Deck, Tim Pangallo,
  10. What was it that Dayton pulled off?? Haven't you seen Poltergeist? The Bishop always wins out over the devil.:madman:
  11. the Schutt DNA Ions are $299.00 Brossart has 5 of them right now and we love them. IMO a much better helmet than the xenith!
  12. Zack Deaton does a great job with what he has to work with. Nobody questioned him or his staff 2 years ago when he won (I think) 8 games! I don't know why there is all this negativity towards coaches in nky. Its not always about x's and o's but johnny and joe's! :taz:
  13. The play calling was fine, coach kline calls a good game.Give brossart some respect they are not a bad football team.:thumb:
  14. Good job Brossart! Plus thanks to the 16 people that voted for us.:ylsuper:
  15. Brossart has a middle school team that is 40 strong!
  16. It was one game and anything can happen. Just because Brossart had one bad game doesn't mean that the season is over and there are no winnable games left on the schedule. They will keep fighting and will get better. This is a tough week, but certainly not the end of their season. Ludlow still has tough games ahead as well and there is definitely room for improvement with them as well. Ludlow only outgained Brossart by 54yards. Big plays were the difference. Congrats to Ludlow on the win, but lets not act like you are going to the state championship just yet
  17. I just heard from a good source that Brian Simmons an asst coach at WV last year is the leading canidate. That would be a good hire for them. He has some good exp. and could help the program.
  18. I would like to remind everybody that this program in itself is only 3 years old. There is no doubt that in it's first 2 years it had multiple hiccups and set backs. But the school and those that surround it feel that even with the team going 0-10 last year, major strides have been made. This off season was the first time that the school has ever had winter weights and also the first time that these kids have participated in spring football. This year will also be the first year that Bishop Brossart will have a middle school football team, establishing their first feeder program. One of the most important things that happened in the off season to the program was the addition of offensive line coach Mark Toebbler. Mark was a very important addition, a guru of football and the offensive line. He is also Coach Reinhart's mentor. They will open up with Betsy Lane in week 0. Betsy Lane is no push over. They are also trying to establish a program under a new head coach who won 3 games last year. Week 1 Owen County. Week 2 Bracken County. Week 3 BYE and then right into district scheduling. There is no question the district that Brossart plays in is not only the hardest, but the largest in the state. With all this at hand we are still thinking positive and moving forward.
