With all the football deaths and things in recent years it's be nice for there to be a grant or something for all schools to be able to get something like this.

I have no idea, but I'm sure either way it's going to take time to get it perfect. It's definately the way to go though.

If it is, I don't think it has much to do with the actual helmet. I think it has to do with the way the player wears it. I've seen many players (college and pro) simply slip on a helmet (some with the chinstrap still on) without much effort.

That seems awfully cheap to me. Hopefully it is right though and they don't care about making a big dollar in exchange to player health.

We were talking about the number of helmets that seem to be flying off as of late also. One observation was that the older helmets chin straps had metal snaps which held better than the newer plastic snaps. However, the plastic snaps don't cut up players arms as much when they come in contact with them. I have seen some very nasty cuts due to helmet metal snaps.
