sportsnut859 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 With all the football deaths and things in recent years it's be nice for there to be a grant or something for all schools to be able to get something like this. Helmet
NEERFAN Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 What's the price, I couldn't find it listed on the site.
sportsnut859 Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Must be pretty expensive for them to not even be able to list it.
jumper1 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Sounds great but I would imagine the price would be high at this jucture. Curious to hear a price?
billwilliams70 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Nice helmet.....whatever the price is, it's worth it. Later.
Jim Schue Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Is the same helmet I see flying off players' heads three and four times each college and pro game I watch?
sportsnut859 Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 Is the same helmet I see flying off players' heads three and four times each college and pro game I watch? I have no idea, but I'm sure either way it's going to take time to get it perfect. It's definately the way to go though.
billwilliams70 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Is the same helmet I see flying off players' heads three and four times each college and pro game I watch? If it is, I don't think it has much to do with the actual helmet. I think it has to do with the way the player wears it. I've seen many players (college and pro) simply slip on a helmet (some with the chinstrap still on) without much effort. Later.
Neers 44 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 In this article it lists the price as $99 per player. Not sure whether or not it's accurate. http://www.technologyreview.com/computing/22312/?a=f

Hopefully it is right though and they don't care about making a big dollar in exchange to player health.

Not sure whether or not it's accurate. http://www.technologyreview.com/computing/22312/?a=f So the device is $99. My son wears the Schutt ION4D and those start at $150. So you are looking at min. $250.

Henry521 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Is the same helmet I see flying off players' heads three and four times each college and pro game I watch? We were talking about the number of helmets that seem to be flying off as of late also. One observation was that the older helmets chin straps had metal snaps which held better than the newer plastic snaps. However, the plastic snaps don't cut up players arms as much when they come in contact with them. I have seen some very nasty cuts due to helmet metal snaps.
