After 2 scrimmages, I am more confident in the o-line. Two nice sized tackles, an experienced proven center and the guards look solid. This o-line has some promising upside as they get more experience together.

Close to 50% of the residents of Ft. Mitchell live in apartments.

Class 2A looks a little deeper in quality teams than the last few years. That top 8 probably won't change much all season. But you are right, finding teams 9 and 10 is tough. Those two slots will likely be a revolving door for a few weeks, maybe all year. The top 6 all look strong! It will be fun to follow them all the way to the title game.

The Beechwood Tigers open their 2026 season hosting the Indian Hill Braves, game time 7:30 in Ft. Mitchell. Fans will get their first look at Beechwood''s improved stadium featuring a new press box, new concession stand and added seating. The Braves are coached by former Covington Catholic coach John Rodenberg who led Indian Hill to a 13-1 record and state semi finals appearance last season. They are led by two sport superstar QB Devlan Daniel. The Tigers will be led in 2026 by returning head coach Noel Rash, who has previously coached Beechwood to 8 state titles. On the field the Tigers feature their own two sport superstar in WR Tyler Fryman and D1 QB Emmett Queen. This should be a fantastic matchup. How do you seeing it going?

O definitely did not "blow the doors off" X. X trailing by 10 with 2:30 left and on the 8 yard line, then a pick 6 by O. But good call on O with the clear win.

My rule of thumb has always been every turnover is worth 7 points.

My gut tells me that Lloyd is worse and New Cath is better than last year. I think Lloyd wins but closer margin than expected.

Preseason, it feels like LCA is a clear #1. Then 2-6 are going to show us in the first couple games if any of them can emerge as the top challenger to LCA. Danville is a solid #7 preseason. Then 8-10 is up in the air.

I don't know anything about Pikeville but knowing how good CAL will be this year, I expect 45-7 or worse.

Cooper is going to be down. They lost a lot. The question is how far down.

Beechwood travels down I75 to Madison Central for a preseason scrimmage game against 2A Somerset. Kickoff scheduled at 7 pm.

Mayfield looking stronger based on this scrimmage.

I said it all season last year. Brown needs to lose 25-30 pounds. He is slow. He still weighs 320 if he loses 30 pounds.

The Guru was on target with his comments throughout the thread above. Ryle has work to do. When the teams lined up for the first snap of the night, I was stunned at the lack of size for the Ryle defense. I never would have expected Beechwood to be bigger than Ryle up front. Beechwood did not look sharp but it is the first scrimmage. The Tigers will get better. Despite the rough spots, Beechwood controlled the action between the varsity squads from start to finish. It was great to see Coach Rash back in action on the Beechwood sideline.

Scrimmage versus Ryle will be played. What the surroundings will look like are still in process.

I heard Thornberry was able to return home this week? Is that correct? Continuing prayers for a full recovery for this young man.

For Beechwood fans, I see two things to be focused on in this scrimmage: Offensive line Defense with Coach Rash back in charge.

I was more impressed with him on defense than offense. I see him on the defensive side of the ball.
