Travis Perry is a Cal recruit staying at UK. He is currently the only player left with any Cal connection. As gchs said, Pope is doing a home visit with Jayden Quaintance, who was the highest rated recruit in the incoming freshman class Cal had committed to UK. Long shot IMO, but maybe Pope can work some magic.

The Lakers can't play any better than that, and they still lost.

The Reds have to just keep hanging in there till they get healthier. Even with all the depth they piled up this off season they are struggling putting good lineups on the field. Hang around .500 till players start coming back and that will be an accomplishment.

2 fantastic finishes tonight in the NBA. Knicks score 8 points in the last 27 seconds to steal a win from the 76ers. I took a nap during the second quarter and halftime of the Lakers and Nuggets and it was worth it. Lakers roar to a 20 point lead mid way through the 3rd quarter. Then the Nuggets just grind and grind, get it to 1 point with about 3 minutes left. LeBron hits back to back 3's. But the Nuggets keep grinding and Murray hits a fade away at the buzzer for a 2 point win. As entertaining as it gets on a basketball court.

3 players. Perry, Chandler and just got a big out of the portal from Drexel. Another BYU player perhaps is next, Richie Sanders?

The Thunder Pelicans game was a fun watch last night. Close game the whole way with the Thunder pulling out the 2 point win. SGA continues to grow into a star, adding clutch play in a playoff win to his resume.

Five runs in the bottom of the 7th with the grand slam winner. That is a heck of a comeback win. Congrats to the Polar Bears

You all can thank me for helping with this win. I was at the game. Reds are getting no hit. I went to the restroom and to get a snack, and of course the Reds scored their 3 runs. The next inning my wife said I needed to get up again and go get something, just get anything.

How long do we have to wait before we hear this line: We may not have better players but we have a better coach.

Israel troop numbers in Gaza have dropped dramatically. It will be interesting to see their strategy moving forward to finish the job. The once planned offensive on Rafah is looking less likely. It will be interesting to see what they do instead.

It is looking like the de-escalation moves are going to work. Tensions decrease after Israel's limited, almost symbolic, attack last night.

Redshirting a year - now that is interesting. I don't recall seeing that path from the transfer portal.

That's possible IMO, but he is a much better athlete than many realize so I think he could also have a 10 year or more career. He really has no choice. He is a top 10 pick in every mock draft I have seen and top 5 in many. On the money side, it isn't about what he makes in the NBA next year. It is about getting another year on the back side when he is making huge dollars. Going in now gets him to an extra year of the big money, and gets him to the big money faster.

Q is off the rails. He has zero alliance power after that stunt. He can't be trusted. But all the other good players can be thankful. Between him and Venus, it's going to be easier for the contenders to fly under the radar for the next 2 or 3 tribals.

I was impressed with the Mariners. My kind of team. Pitchers throw strikes and go after hitters. Hitters don't swing at bad pitches. Good defense. They may be a top hitter away from winning in October, but they play great fundamental baseball.
