CoachSpeak- define it
G: My highschool coach told us to believe nothing that he ever said in the paper. I think it is simply filler that they use because they have to talk to the media. You are never going to get anything close to an accurate quote IMO.

Lee Teegarden has decided to step down as football coach at Brossart
Jacob Martin started every game last year as a true freshman and would have developed into a lineman that could have excelled in any program in NKY.

Lee Teegarden has decided to step down as football coach at Brossart
It's a shame that it appears the program is over at least temporarily. There are a few kids on that team that love football and I'm sure are going to be devestated by not being able to play this year. That being said those same kids have Brossart family roots that run deep and I can't see them transfering anywhere.

Grilling and smoking thread
Some of you BGPers are killing me with your grilling pics. You can't grill with Aluminum foil that is frying. SMH

Breandon Johnson DT - Newport
I disagree that he has a great motor. When he gets the motor started he's unblockable at the highschool level. I think if he'd get in a little better shape to where he could play with a high motor all of the time he'd be a major college level player. Highlands had a very good O-line last year and he made several of them look really bad. I also think his addition to Newport and with the RB they have coming back will make the game with NCC a lot more interesting and give Newport it's first chance at a District in a pretty long time. He's a great talent that is for sure.

Campbell County 2014
Over the last 10 years these two have played 11 times. Campbell county has won 6 of those meetings. SK is real dominating. Take that trash elsewhere! :stop:

Campbell County 2014
IF and it's a big if, he grows another 2 or 3 inches. I didn't grow at all after my sophmore year.

Campbell County 2014
I disagree, if he doesn't grow another inch he may not even get to play college basketball with his game but if he developed as a QB at his size he'd get a nice offer IMO. I hate to see highschool kids specialize in a sport unless they are clearly a D-1 can't miss type talent in a particular sport.

Bishop Brossart 2014
The program is fine much to the chagrin of some of the folks on here with axes to grind. There are 18 kids signed up to play in the high school and they are hoping to add 4 or 5 kids from the freshman class. There are also 13 8th graders that will be playing for the Colt's program this year. Brossart had 21 or 22 kids last season and they graduated 9 seniors I believe. That means 5 or 6 kids in the building who didn't play last year have decided to play this year. So much for the relationship with the coach ruining things. They have had some issues with attendance at the winter program but it has nothing to do with kids not planning on playing. It is the fact that at a small school most of the kids play multiple sports and have to meet their in season obligations. The numbers certainly aren't where the coaches hope to get to but they will get there.

KHSAA Posts List of Schools Voluntarily Moving Up/Down In Next Alignment
Why wouldn't Beechwood request to play up with NCC, Mayfield, etc? That is a rhetorical question.

Name some Teams that...
Simon Kenton, they beat a very average Campbell County team in I think double overtime the last game of the season to get the last playoff spot in the district. I believe that was Chad Lawrence's sophmore year and they went on a run after he was inserted in as QB.

Highlands OT Scott Turner commits
Scottie is my nephew and I agree that he is a great kid. Very level headed and very mature for his age. I'm super proud of him and what he was able to do during his football career. He went from barely getting on the field as a freshman to working his way into starting a couple of years for a very good program. His size, ability and grades have allowed him to play at the next level at a very good school and program for a big discount. With all that said, I'm way more proud of the man he is off the field. Good job my man.

Beats Headphones Question
I read an article from consumer reports or somewhere that I can't recall now that they didn't perform any better than some $25 pairs they had tested. I'd save $250 and buy them but then again I'd never in a million years pay almost $300 for headphones.

Jalen Beal commits to Georgetown Collge
Congratulations, he was one of, if not the best individual players I saw play this year. Very good running back who will do well at Georgetown, I personally feel he'd do better at higher levels too, but what do I know.

It was up earlier today but is no longer working. I'm guessing you've hit the nail on the head.

Covington Catholic Wrestling-Dawn of a Program
I've seen that myself but I never personally did it. If I was too heavy I just wrestled up but I wasn't all that good so I only ever wrestled JV. I had a state champion and a state runner that were the same age as me in the weight classes I could have wrestled in. I wasn't beating either of those guys in a wrestle off so I guess it didn't matter.
