  1. Boyle holds the record with 5 consecutive state rings. I think they hold another record of 6 straight state championship appearances, correct me if i'm wrong. I, for one, would look forward to seeing Highlands and Boyle playing again (other than the traveling part). Talk about a great 4A class with Ft. Thomas, Boyle, Bell, Lone Oak. In order to be the best, you have to beat the best year in and year out. These programs have an awesome fan base and an even more impressive history.
  2. Thanks for the update Purple, I saw the play on tv and knew it wasn't good. Prayers ging out for Jerrod.
  3. #5 was very quick in the open field. He's definitely a playmaker. Way to go tonight Rebels!
  4. Way to scrap Rebels!! 1-0
  5. http://www.amnews.com/stories/2009/12/15/spo.885954.sto Did anyone else see this article? Official announcement on Mr. Football is scheduled to be released at 3 p.m. today by The Associated Press, but AP Photo has already moved pictures of Fort Campbell quarterback Antonio Andrews as the winner. Boyle County’s Rees MacShara, who became only the sixth Kentuckian ever to rush for 3,000 or more yards in one season, was a finalist for the award and was trying to become Boyle’s second Mr. Football. Jeff Duggins won the honor in 2001. Other previous local Mr. Football winners were Jeremy Simpson of Lincoln County and Dennis Johnson of Harrodsburg. AP Photo also is reporting that Boyle’s Larry French and Highlands’ Dale Mueller are co-coaches of the year. Both led their teams to 15-0 records and state championships. See http://www.amnews.com for the official release on Mr. Football and the AP all-state team and coach of the year.
  6. I was thinking about this thread as I was reading the paper today. :-)
  7. I'm sure Boyle's players had nothing to do with getting their rings:rolleyes:
  8. With some posters on here, you could put Boyle against whoever and they'll pick "whoever" just about every time. Not sure if it's sour grapes over a past loss or just don't like giving a good team their dues. Look back at previous BC game prediction threads and you'll put 2 ans 2 together. With the history that Highlands and Boyle both have and the recurring talent pool, I don't see how anyone could discard either team. Great teams (and fans) don't trash great teams, they just strive to play better competition each and every year.
  9. Neither......They will probably be tied at 20!
  10. We would rather have "Quality Years, not Quantity"
  11. #6 Baby!! Way to go Rebels. Never gave up and it paid off. Lone Oak played hard and came up a little short. Hold your heads up high and keep doing what your doing and you should be a household name for finals in the future. Congrats to Coach french on his 1st Championship. One heck of a coach!! Fireworks are going off in title town tonight..:dancingpa
  12. Here's a post from another site with a few stats. I thought it was interesting. Lone Oak has ran 712 plays (rush and pass attempts) and scored 623 points. That is averages to them scoring 0.875 points/snap of the ball, which I think is impressive. Boyle County has ran 596 plays (rush and pass attempts) and scored 600 points. That averages out to them scoring 1.0067 points/snap of the ball. Even More Impressive This means that if each team gets 50 snaps in the game the score would be: LO - 44 Boyle - 50 And for the most impressive. The MacShara kid has touched the ball 257times (Rush and Receptions) and scored 282 points. That means he is averaging 1.1 points per touch. WOW
  13. You know the old saying "offense wins games, defense wins championships". I think that will be proven this Friday. My Prediction............... Boyle County 28 Lone Oak 14
  14. Somebody's been hitten the sauce!!!
  15. Absolutely, alot of teams underestimate this rebel defense, then they get on here and say" man, their defense was the difference in the game". I, for one, look forward to seeing what adjustments the rebels make this week to focus more on the pass defense. Believe me when I say "your not going to get a ton of yards on the ground"!
  16. They faced a pretty good Boyle County D this year.
  17. Boyle County/ Lexington Catholic, should be a great game as always.
  18. Congrats Lawrence Co. on a fantastic turnaround season. You will definately be able to gauge where your team stacks up next weekend. Good luck to both teams on Log Mountain friday.
